I'm looking to start a computer service business in South Carolina, and I'm on the fence between choosing an LLC vs a Sole Proprietorship. I've read up on the pros and cons of the various business structures, but I would like to solicit some feedback and opinions as well.

Starting up quickly with limited costs is a primary concern. Would an LLC cost much more or take much more time? I would like to begin within a month's time (yes, I have an initial business plan).

Some other concerns:

I will need personal protection either through business insurance, the protection of an LLC, or disclaimers.

I might eventually hire employees, full-time or temporary. This would probably not happen right away, although I cannot be sure.

I will initially be working with home computer owners, although I would like to expand to service other businesses once the company has gained a reputation. It seems that an "LLC" name might help distinguish from other fly-by-night computer services.

Thanks!

A person answered a question I had an in it they stated "credit cards are a necessity in today's society". Wrong! I purchase everything, including big purchases and rental cars on a Visa debit card tied to my checking account. Your position on this issue?

OK, I have great credit and dont plan to buy anything major anytime soon. I have 5 credit cards, 2 having high interest rates. Should I close 2-3 credit cards to help my credit in the long run? I know it my score will go down at first, and thats ok, but a year and half from now is when I will want my score as high as possible. I just dont need 5 credit cards, I really only want 2 for emergencies. So should I forever keep them open or go ahead and close them?

Sparta Camps, Inc., leases the land on which it builds camp sites. Sparta is considering opening a new site on land that requires $3,000 of rental payment per month. The variable cost of providing service is expected to be $4 per camper. The following chart shows the number of campers Sparta expects for the first year of operation of the new site.

Jan. 200, Feb. 150, Mar. 300, Apr. 300, May 300, june 500, july 700, aug 750, sep 450, oct 250, nov 50, dec 250, total 4,200

Assuming that Sparta wants to earn $10 per camper, determine the price it should charge for a camp site in February and August.

Computation of Fixed Cost Per Unit:

Land Cost Per Camper = 3,000$ ×12 / 4200 = 8.57

Price = ?

From what I have read you can asure yourself of not getting hired with the wrong answer. I have tried to reasearch the salary range for the job, but its hard when the area I will be covering is so large. Former job paid to low for level of responsibility, I covered 1 state and 30 facilities, New job 19 facilities and 4 states. (potential for more facilities as co. grows)

I locked in on a 30 yr conventional mortage loan approx 80 days. it is due to expire in 10 days. My credit score has decreased somewhat due to high credit card expenses. Can any of the guidelines of the original approved loan be altered now? Am I still entitled to all of the benefits offered by the lender?

Well my house is in pre foreclosure. I have a 570 score now. We are currently showing 2 months past due on my $2500 a month payment. The houseing market isn't moving in FL. Our Sales date its set for Dec 27th (Great) Merry xmas. We want to look at renting a home. If we hang tight in this house for a month or so i can save some money to put down 1st and last plus Deposit. Hope my score doesn't drop much more. I make good enough money to handle a 1200 - 1600 payment. So any advise as to what to expect from the rental market. Rentals everywhere due to home sales not happening. My house has been on the market for 2 months not 1 inquire.

a few years ago i got a credit card, well my bank offered it to me, i was young and i accepted. i maxed the credit card out to its limit and could not afford to pay it back, i ended up getting another credit card as it was stupid and silly with money. i then moved home and have stopped paying them back. i am hoping to clear them in the next few months. however i have not contacted the companies and have not been back to my old house to see if they have written which im sure they have. my question is: do you think they will blacklist against me or the old house? and can i get a ccj for it? thanks

After filling out my information for financial aid with my school, they caught a mistake I made on my tax forms where I transposed a couple numbers on my income. This resulted in me taking $144 from the IRS. I'm filing a 1040x and going to pay the amount, but I'm worried that the IRS is going to think I was being fradulent and take our EITC away this year. Does anyone have any experience with a problem like this?
