My sister and I purchased a flat on 21 April 2005 and sold it earlier this year on 09 February 2007.

During this time she was living in the property with her husband and two children.

I was also living in the property but not for the complete period of time.

When I moved out I moved into a sharehouse where I was paying rent to a landlord.

We split the mortgage payment 50/50 and we never made a rental income from the property.

Due to my not living on the property for the full period of time I am concerned that I will have to pay CGT.

Please can someone enlighten me as to my situation and point me in the right direction?

A few weeks ago i replied to an email for information from Home Learning College. A "Salesman" from the college phoned me and said he would visit our home with the information. After talking to my husband we tried to cancel the appointment through sending an email to the company and phoning the college. We were told that he would not come to the house. I was surprised to find him there at the door with no knowledge of trying to cancel, but as all good "Salemen" are he managed to get in the house. After telling me about the course, i was unsure about how much it would cost but he assured me that i could look at my finaces, cancel the agreement and i wouldn't be charged. I signed the credit agreement and received a copy that said i could cancel after a short time. A week later i received another copy of the agreement, that looks exactly like the copy i signed but stating that the cancellation period is 5 days from the receipt of this copy of the form. I want to cancel the agreement!!

Company is a recruitment firm and the employee they placed with me left during the rebate period. I am entitled to a full refund 6K or so, but the company no longer seems to be trading under the name i signed contract and is de-registered at Companies House. Although I know they are still trading under a different name.
They are not taking my calls or returning emails.

I have always wondered. Why are there so many giants in the US? Why is it the same cannot be repeated elsewhere?

Why is it companies like Boeing, General Electric, Exxon or even Microsoft went on to become giants?

Why is it the same is not repeated elsewhere?

Is it because of their business model or their American spirit?
