info: Santa Fe Company purchased merchandise for resale from Mesa Company with an invoice price of $24,000 and credit terms of 3/10, n/60. The merchandise had cost Mesa $16,000. Santa Fe paid within the discount period. Assume that both buyer and seller use a perpetual inventory system.

Assume that the buyer borrowed enough cash to pay the balance on the last day of the discount period at an annual interest rate of 8% and paid it back on the last day of the credit period. Compute how much the buyer saved by following this strategy

question: buyers net savings? what do i do to solve for this?

I work in maintenance / engineering and I'm kind of a kooky guy. I'm trying to come up with more ways to freak people out at work. The environment is conservative and very corporate. I have no supervision and am not really that accountable. People think I'm in some sort of cult or maybe an underground boxing club.

So far I've shaved my head and worn a metal spiked belt.
I'm considering coming to work wearing a pink **** that has a unicorn on it. I'm looking to escalate the weirdness quickly but I'm running out of ideas.

Please, only post ideas. I don't really care how you feel about what I'm doing.

I have a bad mark on my credit report from the phone company from 2004. I did not realize this until I tried for a new bank account and I was denied. I moved out of my place in June 2004 and I cancelled my phone service. Now I find out that I owe $300 so I complained to SBC and they say that they don't even have any record of me cancelling the service. They wouldn't give in so now I am stuck.
I want to buy a house so I am thinking of just taking the loss and paying them the $300 that they erroneously say I owe. By paying this back, will that mark disappear making my credit score better? If by paying SBC back does not erase that bad mark, then I would rather not pay it.

Does anyone have an idea?

I am in financial ruin due to recieviing no child support for 7 months and am currently seeking the assistance of the State Of Fla Child Support Enforcement but they are telling me it's going to be Christmas before I can get a court date. This has been going on since May of this year. I have kept my nose above water for this time and now I am sinking I have contacted all of the credit counselors available including the United Way and because I have secured debt they can not assist me I only have 4,000 dollars of unsecured credit card debt. So since I have no chance of receiving help from credit counseling am I absolved from the mandated 6 months before filing bankruptcy? How does this work? And where can I find an Attorney at a very resasonable rate?

I am going for a job interview tomorrow because the job I am in is not allowing for growth potential for me and the office is managed and ran badly. For example, they don't give raises, they sometimes start new people out for more than the people here a couple of years with more exp, and they have a hugely high turn over. The hard part is my boss is a super nice guy and I don't want to upset him by leaving. I have an interview Friday at a place that offers all of these things, but I feel guilty because my boss is so nice to work for but lacks in everything else it seems. I do the job I do really well and he won't allow me to reach my potential and advance even though I have the certifications and have been working toward them etc.

The home insurance was sent to me in June. I lost it. In September, I refinance the house and call the property manager to request a copy of it. She refuses to provide me one and said that it's her rule. She only gives the copy to lender, appraiser, but not me: the home owner. What should I do? Is she a dictator or am I asking too much?

I received a medical bill from out of state and then less than 3 weeks later (19 days to be exact) I received a 'Second and Final Notice' saying that if not paid immediately it would be placed with an agency. 19 days doesn't seem like a lot of time before getting a collection agency threat - is this legal?

I went to a doctor who is approved by my health insurance company (I have an EPO). Apparently, his office sent my blood work off to a lab that is not an "in network provider." My health insurance company consequently has now denied the $1500 claim for the lab fees. Help?!?!?! I did my research and made sure that the doctor I went to was in my network and approved by my health insurance...AND his office had my health insurance info...how was I supposed to know they would send my blood off to some place that my insurance company is not contracted with? I don't really have any control over that! What should I do to get either the doctor or my health insurance to cover the lab fees? It seems pretty unfair for me to get stuck with this $1500 bill.

My brother had a car loan ($10,000) that he couldnt pay on anymore and had it repo'd. After trying to work with them, they decided to cut it off and take further actions. He hasnt received any letters but the last call was a wage garnishment threat. I know they have to take him to court and get a judgement first. He wants to know since in CA they can take up to 25% of his wages - can he fight that lower??? and HOW LONG does it take from the start of the last phone call to actually going to court???

He is not running from it, but wants to let his employer know ahead of time so they are not suprised and he also wants to lower his withholdings since he has other bills as well and needs to survive.
