I am in financial ruin due to recieviing no child support for 7 months and am currently seeking the assistance of the State Of Fla Child Support Enforcement but they are telling me it's going to be Christmas before I can get a court date. This has been going on since May of this year. I have kept my nose above water for this time and now I am sinking I have contacted all of the credit counselors available including the United Way and because I have secured debt they can not assist me I only have 4,000 dollars of unsecured credit card debt. So since I have no chance of receiving help from credit counseling am I absolved from the mandated 6 months before filing bankruptcy? How does this work? And where can I find an Attorney at a very resasonable rate?

Not sure what you mean about a mandated 6 months before filing bankruptcy? For what? You should be able to file right now.

The only 6 month part I know of is you have to supply proof of income for the past 6 months.

Many BK lawyers will give you a one hour consultation for free, call around and get some guidance.

Call the bar association and see if they can give you a referral. If there's a law school in your area, check if they have some kind of student law clinic.
