my credit score took a hit when i had a collections agency track me down for a lost bill that was forgotten about after a move. i was late on a payment for a card too. how can i make a comeback? i want to get my credit over 700, since i would like to buy my first home in about 2 years. i already have a credit card that i make monthly payments on as well as college loans (in deferment being that i am in graduate school now). what to do now? do i have enough time to get the score up so i dont get screwed when buying a home in the future?

What exactly is their profession that allows them to take 3-6% out of a sale? Did they go to college? Did they build the house? And what exactly do they do? Open doors? Shake hands? Be somewhere 9-5? Print fliers? Why can't people just sell the house on their own and keep every penny? A house is a house, hardly any bad house in a bad neighborhood can be sold otherwise than it is. Can it?

What justifies somebody who does less work than a hamburger flipper to make more per hour overall?

All products sold by the company have a two year warranty for any manufacturing defects. . As the company is growing, this amount is becoming more material. Warranty claims eventually tend to be approximately 10% of total sales in the first year and 15% in the second year based on prior experience. I am not really sure what a provision is and if a provision can be recognised in the accounts before a claim is made, as the provision will not be accurate as we do not know what actual costs will be incurred. So, how we should account for warranty expenses?

I currently own a home in Southern Calif and I owe about $100,000 on it at about 5%. I am moving to Detroit area but don't want to sell the house and would like to pay it off and own and then rent it out. I also have to buy a house in Detroit when I arrive and am getting $27,000 for expenses for the move. Do I take down payment money out of my 401k for the new house or do I pay off the old one with money from my 401?? How else can I pay off the old house and still purchase a new one up north. I currently have about $280,000 in my 401.. Any suggesstions??????????

Thanks

My home was foreclosed on in June and the people who bid have been working with me to try and save my home, however nothing is working out. I really have no place to go and I have no one to ask for help. If it wasnt for my children I would give up and let it all go. I am desperate and very embarrassed, and scared all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I always thought it was lame to 'invest' in real estate or use it as an excuse to deduct taxes. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

I assume depending on region and location, taxes may exceed your tax deductions by having a mortgage.

So my question is, is to save on taxes a good reason to own a house (good enough to be the only reason to put yourself in otherwise unncessary debt)?

The way I see it is : if it's an investment, the appreciation is taxable. If it's depreciated, you lost, plus you had to pay your mortgage on interest. Either way you've put yourself in a spot where you need to work more to pay the bills, which means you're barely living in the house you're working and paying for. What's the point?

I've seen indirect references that said he was once a mainframe / FORTRAN / COBOL programmer, but no specifics in any online biographies.

Or was he a programmer in the sense that he once wrote a "Hello world" program?

I just can't afford the payments of my 2006-Honda Civic. I'm 2 months behind and I am thinking in voluntary repossess the car.
I called American Honda Finance Corp. and they told me that when I decide, I have to call them to let them know that I want to do it, then they are going to contact the Dealer where I bought the car, and then I can go to sign some papers. Do that mean that they can take me to court to make me pay the negative equity? What would happen if I do it beside the bad credit history for 7 years?
My balance is 19,800

Any other suggestion???

I work at a daycare center. Within the past two weeks we have had our normal hour lunch cut down twice. The first time all staff was only allotted 20 minutes for lunch, and that day most of us worked 9 hours, and then again today we were allotted 45 minutes. With this job we have no other breaks during the day and here over the past few weeks the normal end of the day is at least an hour past your scheduled time.
Are there specific guidelines to the length of time that you are to be given for a lunch break in the state of pennsylvania???

I live in Florida which is a "right to work" state. This means anyone can be fired for any reason or no reason at all. I am considering two jobs; one is union with British Airways and one with a Real Estate company posting their rental listings on the web.

The airline pays $12.75/hr plus bonuses up to $200 a month and is close to my home working in an inbound call center taking or changing reservations. It is union which one has to pay dues for, though I don't know how much that costs is or what benefit it gives.

The real estate office if further from my home paying $12.00/hr in a more intimate setting, hosting photos and descriptions of rental properties, which I think I would better enjoy.

The real estate company could fire me at anytime by our state laws, but I'm not sure that the airline could without just cause, being union. At the same time, in a union the last to be hired is the first to be laid-off.

I will give 5 stars to any union or former union employee to assist me.

I've heard that the money I make off of the house could be penalized via capitol gains? Or that I might have to "do" something with the profit such as use it toward another home? I want to use the money to pay for schooling and to live off of while attending school, is that possible?
