It takes a special hard working individual to succeed in Insurance Sales. Without knowing you it's an impossible question to answer.

I can tell you that NY Life is one of the better Life Insurance Companies to work for.

I sold for NY Life and did poorly. My sales abilities were better suited for business to business sales (which I loved and did well). My major problem selling Life Insurance was selling policies I thought were wrong (Whole Life and Variable Annuities). For the most part you'll sell more polices with high commissions that are not the best option for your customers. It's not a good feeling.

You would do better to gain experience in Life Insurance sales before going to work for a company like this. Heed the warning, they feed off people who strive to be entrepeneurs but it is tough to make it in this line of work although they are a great company. Gain your experience working for someone in a salaried position and get your licensing requirements fulfilled before trying a company such as this.

They are an excellent company and will give you great training. I work for Northwestern Mutual and they are probably the best company to work for, IMHO.
