I Live in MT and things have cooled down a bit there are more houses on the market and tons of lots for sale. Just curious on what the economist and sellers think the market will do the next few years.

I have heard that Texas has a 4 year statute of limitations on unpaid credit card debt. If a collections agency buys this account does the 4 year limit start over? If not, and the debt is over 4 years old and has had no payments made to it, can I have it removed from my credit report? If so, how do I go about it?

About 4 month ago my husband kick me out of his home with all my clothes( I said his home because before marriage he made me sigh a Pre-Nup agreement and I did)
We got married 3 years ago
The main reason why we are apart was MONEY, he wanted me to pay 1/2 of everything, I used to pay 1/2 of his Mortgage , utilities plus expensas.
But the big problem was when he asked me to pay 1/2 of the mensually payment of his Sport car ( his car is not on my name, he bought it before marriage) also he wanted me to help with the payments of his Credit Cards ( he owns about $13,000 and again I never used those cards and there not on my name) cause of that he decided we should be apart for a while or forever...
Right now I'm living at my parents home
He always make more money than I do but anyway he wanted me to pay 1/2 ! He did not care if I have some money left for me or nothing. He is very bossy and rude
I'm still loving him but he was using me! I'm very sad and upset

I just finished transferring all my credit card debt to one card with a fixed 5.99% for the life of the balance. It was about $11,000 I plan on paying this off within three years.

Now, I want to decrease my credit limits on my other cards. Would this hurt my credit score?

the local authority as the house was in poor repair. If my brother and I sell the house now and give back some of the proceeds to our mother, will we be liable to pay CGT on the whole market value of the property or just the amount we keep after seeing our mother financial ok. None of us can afford to maintain the house. Our mother is 75, I am on a small ill health retirement pension and my brother is in the low income bracket.

Someone told me you can pay off a house's taxes and if they don't pay you back with interest, you get the house. I don't know much about this but I'm trying to learn. Can someone inform me of this matter?

I realize that every bank is different & that's why I put 'generally'. I bank with BB&T & the account's under about $214. They're charging a $6 fee every day that it's overdrawn & a $35 fee for any purchases that come in. I know I'm not good with finances & shame on me. But I'm just looking for an answer to my question; No need to bring your soapboxes. (Also, I'll have the money in a week. Will it make a difference if I call & tell them that, or will it matter at all? : S)

I think if I was trying to make £1000's each week it would be very hard, but would £20.00 a day (£100 per week) be easier to achieve, I have done a bit of research but have not found a definitive answer yet.

If there is an expert out there who will answer my question and point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. thanks in advance

I bank with bank of america and i had a check go through that was supposed to have been post dated but wasnt (long story). The check posted last night putting my account into the negative even though there wasnt enough money in there to even cover it. I have 11 purchases in red (neg) and 8 of them were made days before that check went through with my debit card.. so technically they shouldnt be overdrawn! I understand i will owe O/D fees, but will i have to pay overdraft fees on things that I bought days ago?

It doesn't make sense!

I decided to get in to a franchise business since I am new in starting my own business and needed the assistance of a franchise. I decided to get in to a cell phone store since I like technology and it was low maintenance. I saved up 7k and used 3k from my credit card for franchise fee. The franchiser is MobileHQ. Basically, three months later the president decided to "resign" and emptied the bank account and took off.
I never got to open my store, never had any type of training, and out 10k. While some some franchises had the training and got to open their store others, there are others, like me, never had a chance. From what I heard, he (Geoff Bluenthal) took off with 500k maybe more.
Since I never had any training or opened my store, can I get my fee back? And how can I go about doing so? What legal actions (criminal) can be brought against this jerk? Since they were based in Mesa, AZ and I am in another state, can the FBI be brought in to this? Please help, thank you.

I had a balance on a credit card and found another credit company with lower interest rate so I transferred the total balance from my card (Chase) to Bank of America. I cut up the Chase card after that.
Chase has since sent me statements with finance charges, even though I made no further purchases after transferring the total balance to another card. This doesn't seem right to me. Has anyone else encounter this?

My roommate and I have been living in a 4bed apt for 2 months and will be transferring to a 2 bed in Aug. When we first moved in the management gave us a 2bed lease to sign, blank, and said that they would fill in the info when they assigned us the apt. We recently found out that when we signed the lease they jacked up the price and have now lowered it for all of the people signing leases now. This upset us a little and our management refuses to let us sign a new lease with the new price, even though we haven't even moved into that apartment yet. We were never given a copy of our 2 bedroom lease so we asked for one and when we got it we saw that our apartment number and bedroom had been scratched out and changed, without our initials next to it. They also wrote down a price different from what they had quoted us. Is any of this grounds to void the lease? All we really want is to be able to sign a lease with the current prices, since we will be paying $70/mo more than everyone else.
