Create a budget based on true and real data. For example, take the average rent in CA, not where you are. Include in the budget things such as postage to mail in bills, cost of having a checking account, clothing, and gifts. After you have a good budget, times it by 6. This will give you enough money to live 6 months without working so that all the money you make can support you after that.
Good luck
PS regarding following a dream; put in writing when you will drop trying to make it work. (Example, if you don't make it within 3 years, you will move on.)

You need to save a minimum of $5,000. It is very costly to live in California. You don't say where you are now but unless it is New York City, it will cost more to live there than where you are now. There are two things you have to do first before you ever consider this dream.
1) Get an education or some kind of job skills. You won't have an opportunity to get a good paying job otherwise.
2) Live on your own. You need to know what the expenses are before you ever try leaving for California.

A gazillion dollors.
Seriously, for a move like that, you can never have too much. If you wait until you have enough money, you might have to wait forever.
For the absolute minimum of what you need, calculate the following costs:
Travel expenses
Gettting a place to live (rent, deposit)
Monthly groceries (just in case you don't get a job right away)
Travel expenses once you get there
Medical needs/first aid/emergencies (you never know)
Realistically, I would say thousands of dollars, a good 5 grand at least if you want to play it safe.
Good luck :)

Get online and find the newspaper where you want to live and look at the ads -- they'll all be online. See what an apartment costs. Or find someone who needs roommates to make the costs lower. You're going to need twice the amount of an apartment rent for deposit. So, if an apartment costs $800 a month in the place where you want to live, you'll need first and last month's costs for the deposit. You'll also need food money for at least a month while you're looking and the cost of a ticket out there.

Gee, why don't you pick somewhere more expensive to run away too? Oh, wait, it's because there isn't anywhere, isn't it?
LOL
If you really "have no skills", then whatever the "dream" you want to pursue is will fail. If you were cute enough to be a Hollywood star, they would have found you.
Sorry...
