There is some evidence that, in the years 1981-85, a simple name change resulted in a short-term increase in the price of certain business firms' stocks (relative to the prices of similar stocks).
Suppose that, to test the profitability of name changes in the more recent market (the past five years), we analyze the stock prices of a large sample of corporations shortly after they changed names, and we find that the mean relative increase in stock price was about 0.72%, with a standard deviation of 0.20%. Suppose that this mean and standard deviation apply to the population of all companies that changed names during the past five years. Complete the following statements about the distribution of relative increases in stock price for all companies that changed names during the past five years.
(a) According to Chebyshev's theorem, at least 84% of the relative increases in stock price lie between ( % ) and ( %)

There is a new building which is still under construction, but you can buy in advance. Has anybody had bad experiences with
buying a home not already built? Quality is also on my priority list.
I would not want to be stuck with a home where the paint starts cracking the first week after you move in. What are the things that I should look for to ensure I am getting quality?

Hello. My husband accidentally claimed 3 this year! He just got the form to change it. We have a 3 year old son. Should he claim 0 or 1? We are probably going to owe the government from the last 7 months anyway.

My parents recently bought a property. The people my parents bought the property from left their plants and flowers there for my mom to take. My parents recently rented the property to a couple with a child and a grandmother. A month or so after they moved in, my mom went to the property with our gardener and started pulling out the plants in the backyard to take home. The tenant ran outside yelling at my mom telling her that she was not allowed to take the plants. She said that since she was renting the property it was HER property and taking the plants was taking part of her property.

Was she right? I have never heard of anyone do this before! The lease is very, very basic and says nothing about this. The tenants have been giving us nothing but trouble since day one. They yelled at my mom in her face and constantly threaten to call the police even though my mom did nothing to upset them. Were the tenants right about the plants and can my parents take legal action?

I'm thinking of quitting and retraining full time at uni as not happy in current job and line of work. I'm scared I'm not doing the 'right' thing, how can you ever know what a good career is for you until you try it? Has anyone packed it all in and done this? What were your experiences? Did it 'work out'? So many questions!

seems like there are plenty of these questions on yahoo. here's my case. accident in december of 2006. police report says im not at fault. ambulance took me to ER. extent of my injuries: broken hand (fourth metacarpal in my left (non-dominant) hand), abrasions on neck from airbag, miscellaneous brusing & soft tissue damage on head & legs. medical bills added up to over $15k. car was totaled. my hand was in a cast for 2-3 weeks and then in a splint for 2-3 weeks. 5 sessions of PT and 4-5 sessions at chiropractor's. i am 26. 6 months later today, i am basically fully healed. i still have some range of motion issues with my left wrist, but it does not prevent me from doing most tasks. my standing offer from the other party's insurance: $11.5k for my med. bills, 1 month lost wages, $3k for P&S. also, if they pay only $11.5k for my med bills, do i have to fight with the hospital or my own insurance company (prepaid a portion) to get them to accept the lower $ or do i have to pay the $15k?

I am getting married Aug 4th and I have a tax question. Me and my future spouse will be living apart, him in DC and me in Richmond. I will be living with my father. My father has taken out some money for me from his retirement this year (for college) and is depending on filing me as a dependant so that he can get some of this money back he will loose. Can I be married and still claimed by my father as a dependant? I will live in his house and be dependant but I just didnt know if this would mess his taxes up. Seriouse answers only please.
