I recently got my credit report and discovered that someone has been using my name to try to obtain credit.

They made 9 attempts in a six month period all of which were unsucsesful.

My credit score is now down to 540! i have spoken to the companys they made the credit searches and they have aggreed to remove all the searches on my record that I didnt make.

Does anyone have an idea on how many points my score will go up once these 9 failed attempts to obtain credit have been removed from my account?

i am 24 and self-employed. i want to begin saving for when i am 65, but am unsure if a ROTH IRA is my best option. although i am researching now, for the most part i am still ignorant of the stock market and feel uncomfortable handling my own investments without a broker's help. if i could have $10,000 to invest initially, what are my options other than a ROTH IRA? or, is a ROTH IRA the best balance of security (it WILL grow in 40 years and without taxes!) and low-maintenance (well, little maintenance worries for ME) after all?

What is the quickest way out of debit, because I have alot of debit and I am sure alot more people do to. So, I want to know, need to know, and I need you help. Please me and the others of thousands of people reading this =)

I have been looking to get a grant for starting a business and have had no luck with it at all. Every time I find one that looks good and might work I get the run around. I need to know what forms do I need to fill out or just how do I go about getting a grant to start a business. Thanks so very much for the help.

Ok, My husband and I put in an offer to purchase a home and the sellers accepted back in late May. Since then we have been waiting on hearing from the mortgage company. On July 2nd - before we ever were approved for the mortgage - my husband found out that the company he works for is going bankrupt. We tried to call the mortgage company to stop the process but couldn't get an answer because everyone was on vactaion.The mortgage was approved on the 3rd. Yesterday the mortgage company calls and says we are to close TODAY at 1:00pm. An earnest money deposit WAS NEVER COLLECTED. Now the sellers are threating to sue us. They are saying that they had someone lined up to rent the house but they didn't because we were supposed to buy it. They are threating to sue for 3 months worth of lost rent along with other damages. Is that possible? We are willing to give some earnest money but dont want to be sued for thousands. Please help! P.S. The house was never listed as a rental property.

I have an 2002 Saturn, I have about another year until the car is paid off. My questions are how many payments do you have to miss until they tow your car away. I am just curious. I have been with the same lender for 5 years and although some times I have been late with my payments, I have always paid each month. I have heard that as long as you send them something each month, if you cant make the full payment they cant tow your car away. Is this true or not. My credit is pretty bad with a fico score undre 500, when I pay the car off can I request a letter saying the car is paid off, then send to the 3 credit agencies. By doing this will it bring my fico score up. Thanks

OK. im 17 i worked with my dad ( he have his own bussiness) so i just help him out. im a student. he pay me $85 cash for 3 times a week. So if i also gamble and win + my pay. and deposit about $400 a week to my bank. (i am a full time student). Will the bank dob me in to the government and report me?? or will tax people/government come to my house question me about where i get the money from??

Or should i just not deposit the money to my bank account and just spend it??

I put $4000 into an online discount brokerage. I currently have all the money in 6 stocks with 10-15 shares in each stock.

1. When I put more money into the account is it better to buy more shares in your current stocks if they are doing well? or diversify more by buying new stocks?

2. Does this portfolio look OK for a beginner?

Do you think it is worth buying 5k worth of Ford and 5K worth of JetBlue? My father gives my son $10,000 every year and we always just throw it into this Merril Lynch mutual fund. I was thinking this year I will buy Ford and JetBlue. There stocks are both very low and I have to believe that they will go up in the future. I was going to put the money in and let it sit.

I have been up to the courthouse twice and still have a hard time figuring them out.They list an amount and I assume that is what they either want to get out of the property or is that what is owed on the property.Also how do you contact someone about these.They have a law office usually listed but they dont seem to be of any help.Can they not give out that info?What is the best way to find a contact person on these listings..Thanks for any help you can give me on understanding this paperwork..
