I'm thinking of quitting and retraining full time at uni as not happy in current job and line of work. I'm scared I'm not doing the 'right' thing, how can you ever know what a good career is for you until you try it? Has anyone packed it all in and done this? What were your experiences? Did it 'work out'? So many questions!

Do what makes you happy...do what you want to do. I have just finished a course and i was the youngest on it at 20!
Most of the others had quit their jobs to take the course or even moved to be on it, the oldest guy was 52 who was on the course!
After you can get a better job specialising in your profession i'm glad i can finally do this rather than working in retail.

Currently in that dilemma myself. I have been taking all the classes that I can to get into a completely new field. I have now reached the end of that path and I must make the choice to go back full time for 2 years (as the classes are only offered during the day) or sit back and stay put with no future movement where I am at.

The problem is I have to work at something and financially I cannot just up and leave. The new career would be a definite boost in income; as I am completely stagnate in my field. I just don't think the mortgage company and the car loan would be happy if I asked to hold off payments for two years.

About 95% of the people that I know have graduated in this field are still in it, enjoy it and make good money at it. So with this in mind, I am trying to find something at night so I will not lose my opprotunity to move ahead in life.

Good Luck with your choice.

It is a tough choice, the main thing to take into consideration is to have enough to sustain yourself while you are taking your course.

I am thinking of the very same thing myself.
