Jackson Hewlet tax office messed up my taxes. They answered a question wrong and caused us not to get our earned income tax cutting us 1,200 short. We caught it and called only about 20 minutes after. They waited several hours to call back and said yes it was wrong but there was an hour window in which to fix it and it had passed. Now all they can do is amend it and it could take as much as 6 months for the money. We were counting on the money. THEY missed the hour window, not us. They will not compensate us any more then amending it for free. I am very upset. Is there no way to make them give us a check or money card for the 1,200? Now, they dont even want to talk to me, and deni that we made the 1 hour window and they did not. Is there anything more they can do and how do I make them do it?

I am 25 and have severe asthma, I'm on a cocktail of drugs and under a Thoracic consultant. I have a new job but have had to have a couple of days here and there off. I am under a 3 month probation period and am really worried that I will not be kept on. I need to work as I'm a single parent. Anyone else in this situation? Do you know if I have any rights? I am at work most of the time and I work hard but my boss thinks asthma is all in people heads rather than a life threatening condition. My consultant is writing to her to tell her how severe my asthma is etc but I don't know if that will make things worse. Please help as I'm feeling really stressed. xxxx

I'm halfway through a degree and a bit clueless as to what to do afterwards. My CV is a bit on the empty side, so I know I need to get some work experience over the summer. Should I take any job, even if it is something like customer service, or should I try and find something a bit more focused towards a potential career?

I feel as if it is a pride thing and I have always contributed to life myself. I know I may sound stupid or rich - and I am neither. I am finding it difficult at the moment to get work.

I am married and own a house (if that matters). I make about $20,000. If I claim 1 will I get money back or owe money? I screwed up this year and somehow ended up oweing like $600, turns out I was claiming 4 (I don't know what I did wrong, not much of a tax person). I'd prefer not to owe anything next year.

I heard that the British retailer Tesco have just opened a Beijing branch. Although I can find lots of articles about it online, I cannot find anything which actually tells me where it is. Is there anyone out there that knows the address or knows where I can find it? I have even tried the Tesco website and they don't seem to know.

By allowing yourself to be overwithheld and then getting a big refund check is like giivng the government an interest free loan all year.
On the IRS website, there is even a calculator where you can enter your expected wages, deductions, and credits to determine the number of allowances to put on your W4.
Wouldn't you rather have that extra amount on your paycheck each week instead of waiting until tax time to get it all back in one big check?

I registered with this recruitment agency and was supposed to have a meeting last week but that had to be rescheduled. When I phoned up today to arrange a new date for the meeting, I was asked to bring in my passport (something that wasn't mentioned before). The lady said it was so that they knew people were who they said they were, but again, this is something she didn't mention before. For the record, I've got a British passport but this just seems strange to me. No agency has ever asked me this before. I'm thinking it might be because I haven't got an English-sounding surname.

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
