I think that if your employers take measures to sack you because of your state of health they are discriminating against you on grounds of disability. If you read through the following link, it should be clear that having asthma so badly that you have to have drugs all the time constitutes a disability. http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/your_rights/civil_rights/disability_discrimination.htm
Just stick it out. This is the flu season and it's quite normal for people to have the odd day off. Your absences may not be so conspicuous as you fear. But whatever you do, don't get stressed -- you know what that does for your asthma. Your boss needs educating, but this may not be the moment and you and your GP may not be the right people to do it. If you are a good worker, then short periods of absence during a probationary period which coincides with the most unhealthy time of year need not be a barrier to keeping this job. I do wish you well -- in all senses.

Whilst you are in your probationary period, your employer can dismiss you. They can either do one of two things:
1) Extend your proationary period to say 6 months to see how you perform and monitor your sickness.
2) Dismiss you - if you are no good at your job and is off sick a lot then this is the perfect opportunity for them to 'get rid of you'.
Have you had any regular one to ones with your line manager and has your manager asked you if there's anything that they could do to help?

I think you should firat talk to your doctor to see if you can get on some medication that will not alter you on your job so your performance is good on the job. Then, Talk to your boss or HR department & explain the situation. At the worst case, yopu will probabley have some unpaid days off. During probation periods though they can use their judgement on it. I would definitely talk to your boss before you take too many days ff! Good luck & try to staty healthy.

I do believe you have rights under the new Disability Act...check that out and see. However as you are on probation they can dismiss you if they come up with other grounds.
Good luck.

It all depends on your contract. What does it say in there regarding sick leave?
Did you declare your illness when you went for your interview?
