I feel as if it is a pride thing and I have always contributed to life myself. I know I may sound stupid or rich - and I am neither. I am finding it difficult at the moment to get work.

Why shouldnt you? You have paid into the system, now you need to use it and you should not feel ashamed.
The ones who should feel ashamed are those who have never worked a day in their lives and abuse the social security system.
Social security is set up for people like you who are temporarily out of work, not as a lifestlyle choice for lazies.

It's your entitlement to be supported whilst you're not working. There's nothing wrong with claiming social security. I had to do it for months, and felt awful, but I had to do it to survive. It's just one of those things.

I know that some people claim social security and then do nothing about it for months, those kind of people need to get their act together. You, on the other hand, sound like the kind of person who is genuinely trying to find work, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just get out there and do what you need to do.

Anyway, think of this as a time to develop your skills before finding work. You have the ability to train for your dream job at college, paid for by the tax payer. When you start claiming benefits, you realise what a difference being a tax payer really makes, then it kinda makes a difference to how you see paying taxes. Or at least it did for me.

Hope that helps.

Yes - if you are entitled to it, then claim it.

I was made redndant a few years ago, and it took a lot for me t go through the process of claiming - a real pride issue.

However, the money althogh not a great deal, does help, and is better than noting, and also the staff are generally very helpful, especially when you go to the job centre, ad will really help you to get a job that you want.

I say go for it - I know it's hard, but there are times when you just have to bite the bullet. Good Luck

You're entitled to claim if you've been making contributions in your working life before! Good luck with finding a job and accept the help you've earned while you're looking.

If he did not pay into social protection from a job i do not see how he must be entitled until eventually he became disabled. also his father and mom social protection ought to bypass to the surviving better 0.5. If neither father and mom are nonetheless living than the the benefits end with there lack of life.

Claim if you really need to, but don't just do it because others are 'taking the p@@s' out of the system I commend you for even stopping to think about it, as plenty of others don't!
