I trade options online and pay $14.95 for the first 10 contracts and $1.50 each thereafter. Does anyone know of a better firm for this?

A friend of mine wanted to borrow a large sum of money for emergency. Although it was sort of strange to ask, I told him yes, but he had to sign a promissory note (drawn up by WillMaker or some other software). Now many months passed but I never seen a dime of it. Can I write this loan as bad debt on my tax return?

I am sick of my current occupation ( custodain) and wondering if anyone can think of any other jobs id qualify for. here are my quals:
1)can type 55 wpm
2) good at basic computer operations
3) have a AA degree ( associate of arts from comm coll)
4) high school diploma
5) no real experince other than custodian / cleaning wrok

I will be starting a job in Tulsa, OK this June. I am planning on getting an apartment for some epriod of time, but I am very anxious to buy a house as soon as I can. I should be very solid financially after 4 months on the job. My question is, how long would you want to and check out the town before you committed to buying a house??

Also, How long before my lease is up should i start my house hunting process? I am not sure how long the whole process will take. I know it takes about 30 days to close, but how far in advance would you start looking?

i had a debt of $6000.00 from a creditor 10 years ago. recently a collection agency obtained a judgement to garnish my wage and they are doing so every week for 10% of my gross. with the interest the debt they put on me now is $12000.00 would any one please tell me what is the best option to do now. by the way i am planning to file for bankruptcy since i dont know if there is any other option.

...I heard there are places that come to your house and collect old materials like wood, drywall, etc. and give u cash for it. I guess they recycle those materials.

I'm rehabbing my house & wanted to know where I can contact people or companies that do this.

I have been working at a company for four years and I will be getting laid off this summer. My whole department is closing. Of course I don't want to leave without having another job first. And I don't want to lose health insurance. I'm also hesitant to leave right now because I've grown close with my coworkers and it'll make their job harder if I leave now. Any advice?
