My wife and I were going to file as Married Filing Seperately on our 2005 Tax Returns. She has alfeady filed and received her refund long ago. I have yet to file. I was able to find out later that our refund would be much greater if we filed jointly. I understand this can be corrected with a 1040x. Do I need to file my 2005 1040 first and then submit a 1040x later, or can I file them both at the same time?

First of all, what is distressed property anyway? Is it just property that has been seized because the owners haven't paid their mortgages?

Secondly, what do I need to have in order to purchase distressed property? I don't want to buy, fix it up, and sell it; I just want to buy it for myself (fix it up of course).

my husband and I have one running car now...his 13 year old suburban just gave up the ghost last night and we NEED to buy a second car pretty soon. our credit isn't too great but it's not terrible either. we own our own home and have never been late on payments and just refinanced 3 months ago. should we look for something new? we don't have any $ to put down on a car....does anyone know how difficult it is to get into a new or used car without anything down and with not so perfect credit?

I was given these shares under an ESOP plan over twenty years at different prices. The company was SBC which is now ATT. Some years the share value was $50.00. I left them alone for the last twenty years and reinvested the dividends.

I own a small business with 25 workers, last year was slow and we cut some hours no overtime. I purchased a 165,000.00 Ford GT with my own money. I have not told anyone at the company because I am worried about the shop talking. Things like times are tough and the boss buys that car ect. How should I handle it? the word will get out, one of my workers is a friend and I hid the car when he came out, cause I know he would spread the word in the shop. I know it's my money and I would't care if someone bought one, I would be happy for them, Today my General manager came in my office and saw my GT screen saver and said you should buy one of those. I almost told him but couldn't Looking for the best advise

I am fast approaching the end of my BA hons Accounting degree. I have only 3 months to go but am currently working in a graduate finance role exactly in my field. I can only work here for 2 weeks since i signed on as a temp and have to go back to university to finish my degree and was thinking that this experience has been worthwhile but its not been long enough - even though i have had 2 and a half weeks experience here. Will this actually look good when future employers look at this and my cv?

I have formed a LLC on december 16th, 2006 and have few questions and it would be really great if experts can answer please.

1. The LLC has just one owner and its not hiring anybody for some period of time. It says in the instructions of the form SS-4 that we don't need to file a EIN number if its a single owner LLC. the owner's personal SSN/EIN can be used for the tax filing purposes. Is that true?

2. The LLC is formed on december 16th,2006. When is the first year tax due?

3. What is the LLC-12 form?

4. LLC-1 (articles of organization) has been filed with state of california. Do i need any other form as well to complete the filing of LLC?

thanx,
sam

I worked for my brother for a week and he refuses to pay me. His company is owned by 4 men himself included. My brother drove me from Washington to California when the week was up and he refuses to pay me because he said that the gas alone was over the wages I was supposed to receive. Im wondering if there is anything I can do to get my money. I did not sign a w-2, as an employee I wasnt given one to sign. Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me get the money I worked hard for?

I have a coworker who tells lies about my quality of work to our boss. It's my word against hers. I avoid talking to her unless absolutely necessary and have to keep my voice low because it "bothers" her. She stabs everyone in the back that she works with, she's proven it time and again. I am not the only one she picks on, but I become her target quite often and don't even know what it was I did most of the time, if anything!
My boss seems to understand this woman's personality and our issues with each other, but never does anything about it- don't know there would be anything to do anyway?
My leaving is not an option right now, and I doubt she will either.
Any ideas on how to save my reputation around this woman?
Thanks!
