im 16 and i am a male and i wanna baby sit but i cant land a definate job even if it is just with one paticular family!!!!!! i just wanna baby sit..im good with kids and i am a good person but i want a job i love not just standing in a grease kitchen...teens should not be dorced to work in fast food only

for any moms/parents looking for baby sitters i live in= pikesville md.21208, despite being a teen i have good transpotation, i am able to do all kinds of house work and i dont mind manual labor...of course i have had some exsperience helping in my grandmothers daycare and i know how to make lots of good mealslastly i do not require high pay please, if you need a sitter let me have a shot at it

Go to Craigslist for your area to find out the babysitting positions available.Since you cannot go home by home to find out the positions available this is the best way.You can find any jobs listed in the community forum in your locale.Even I'm a kid loving person and looking for that job.Good luck.

Your town may send out news pamphlets once in a while. If it has an area you can apply to put your name on it (to advertise), go through a simple Red Cross program (you'll get a better chance at getting a baby-sitting job, even if you don't put your name in a paper. So go through Red Cross training both ways) and simply get your name, phone number, resume, etc.
If you don't have a paper, design a eye-catching advertisement on paper, or on a computer. Print one copy out, and print a lot out at a local copier, or at a business that has copiers. Print as many as you think you need. Make sure your name, phone number, training, and resume is on there. Start posting the advertisments in legal places. It might cost a little, but it's a pretty good way to attract people and a get a job.

Look on hotjobs.yahoo.com or even craigslist.com, both are good sorces for any type of job. If you have a local newspaper put a small add out as well as references and your expierences with kids. The first thing you should do is get yourself noticed in your neighborhood as a good babysitter, first start with relatives, friends of the family, and neighbors and work your way up to people you don't know. Once word spreads it will be a lot easier to find someone who will trust you with their kids.

Put up a baby sitting bulletin at your local store or library or where ever your town allows. (Clear it with your parents first) Word of mouth is good too tell people that you know with younger kids that you are interested. There are other jobs for teens other then fast foods, have you tried bagging groceries or maybe handy man work like washing cars or snow shoveling or grass cutting?

Have you tried churches? There are many parents that can surely appreciate more babysitters on the weekends. or how about the theatres? Have you tried to find a job there? or how about being a lifeguard? There are indoor pools in some YMCA child cares. There are probably many more ideas but I just can't think of any. sorry and good luck to you. :)

My best friend has a job baby sitting send out an ad in the news paper hang up flyer's talk to the families on your block and other blocks around yours. Hope this helps

I think it would be a good idea to know .
C.P.R and what do do when someone is choking.It is great you are good with kids but that is not a enough you must be ready to do work to make a meal and do a little house cleaning to. I think if you show people you will do that you will for sure get a job!

Where do you live (as in city not your address)? Maybe there is a mom looking right now but without a city they would not respond.

Be careful when answering them though it could be a pediophile, you never know and No Pedo's are not gay men either.

But a great way is to post notices in churches and places like that.

you should look in the classifieds section of L.A times and in penny saver. they have some good ones like 25-150$ an hour but their there like deep in Beverly Hills and they want you to take care of their kids and entertain them. if that doesnt work look on craigslist(website) i got like 200 extra dollars a month: mowing lawns, babysitting, helping elders, moving furniture. its a great site. i hope i was of some sort of help for you!

have you called the ymca or a before and after school type program? our ymca has many male counselors. they run the morning programs at school and they also run the summer day camp programs. and i might add that the males are excellent with the children, especially the boys who need that male influence. good for you looking for such a great rewarding job! :)
