Yes, it's in the lease that I pay the water bill. I guess I figured when I signed the lease that I would get a bill, or he would tell me what I owed him. I got invoiced from the gas and electric co. and paid them. I never rec'd a bill from the water company, I was never asked to pay the water bill, and when I called the water company, my unit in the duplex doesn't have a water meter, so they couldn't give me a bill if they wanted to. Since I never rec'd a bill, I totally forgot about paying it. I mean, how long do you have to wait for a bill?
So when I bought a house and moved out I stayed in contact with my landlord. He was going to walk through the appt and send me my deposit back in the mail. Instead, I get a letter from my landlord saying he is withholding my deposit because I owe him for 18 months worth of water! (which he NEVER asked for, NEVER mentioned, nothing!) Is that even legal? He doesn't show me a bill, nothing, just says I owe him $500.
I am in Ohio

My daughter works for a large corporation as a rep on a PAYE basis. She drives her own car and does in excess of 20k per year. Her company pays for the fuel and gives her an annual car allowance of £5400 but she has to pay 40% tax on that. because of the mileage she does, the car is depreciating very fast and repair bills and servicing costs are very high. Can she enter any of these as a professional cost against her earnings?

I have all 5 piggie banks, in completely perfect condition, but none of them have their plastic bottoms. Does anyone know how much they are worth, with and without their bottoms, and where I could find new bottoms for them if it makes a significant difference to their value?
Thanks!

I will be moving to Texas in the next 3 weeks to go work, don't know how long I will be there. Will I have to pay Oklahoma on the money I make in Texas since Oklahoma has state tax and Texas doesn't???
P.S. I own property here in Oklahoma too. I don't think its fair if I have to pay tax on money I make in a different state...

1. I am on the path to a career change. How can I switch from a Structural Engineer to a Translator/Interpreter (Mandarine-English). I'd rather not go back for another 4 years of university study.
2. I'd also appriciate anyone who can give me any idea about the pay. I understand simultaneous court interpretation cost more than, say, a translation job for a travel brochure. I am located in Toronto, but any big/median city info is appriciated.
3. What is the difference between being a member of the ATA or CTTIC and being licensed by these organization?

Jill and Ray are Brother / Sister. Ray wants to buy a new TV, but he doesn't have the money for it right now. Ray says that he will pay Jill $2,000 in five years if Jill gives him $1,600 for the TV today.

Jill feels that there's an interest rate of 6% if she were to put the money in a bank instead of lending it to Ray.

Assuming that there is no risk of Ray not paying the $2,000 when he says he will, should Jill go through with the loan or should she put her money in the bank?

i was applying for college online last night. i was paying for it through applyweb.com and you can pay with a credit card or a check. i tried to pay with a check and i typed in the router number and account number and hit submit but it went back to the same page with all the info erased. i didnt recieve a confirmation email or confirmation screen, so i used my debit card instead and it worked. i dont know if the electronic check went through or not. should i call my bank to have it cancelled and to see if it went through? can i? or what should i do so im not charged twice? thanks

it said before i paid that it would take 6 days to process the check thats why im worried because i dont know if it would send a confirmation email after the 6 days or what

I'm going to buy a house next month and my agent told me that she can provide us a 2% interest rate if we put 10% down, it's only for 3 months and our fourth month payment gonna me more like maybe we"ll get 6.25% I Rate and then we can refiance it for 3 months like we can do this for 1 or 2 year then we can get a fixed rate for 15 year. so my question is is this a good options. b'coz i don't want to be in trouble in few years.

I had a bad debt (I had repaid the loan 3 times over but they kept wanting more and I was skint)b and received a CCJ to pay it back. I paid some but never finished hence the judgement was never satisfied. 6 years later a debt recovery agency have brought the debt and are chasing me threatening court again.

Is there a limitation period on an unsatisfied judgement? I have a niggling thought that I cannot be chased nor taken to court again as nothing has been done for over 3 years, am I right?

I use a big bank for savings, but have been hearing good things about ING Direct. I can get a much better rate on savings accounts with them. Are they easy to work with? Reputable? Easy to bank online with? Easy to deposit/transfer/withdraw money?

I am not going to move the money to other types of funds, so please limit your answer to savings account suggestions, please. Thanks!
