It takes 37 years of work in the U.S. postal service to get 70%
of your base pay when you retire. At 30 years of work, you get
only 56%. It takes 41 years and 11 months to get 80%.
In addition, the U.S. postal service gives out large amounts of
overtime, but is reluctant to hire new "career" employees.
The U.S. postal service has an aging work force. How can the
U.S. postal service function efficiently in this manner?

Any tips. We recently moved, and when we had the money, we bought new furniture, sheets, and decor for our new home. Christmas came, and I spent more money on gifts, etc. Now, I am still spending. I feel like I "need" a new purse, new pajamas, new cologne - all the things I didn't get at Christmas I think. I am trying to make our life perfect, and have all the things we need, or deserve. At least that is my mentality. How do I stop this cycle? I have had issues in the past (a long time ago) with credit, and learned my lesson. I am paying for all of this with cash, but we need to start saving!!! We both need a retirement plan! I spend, and then feel guilty and nervous about money (due to my past experience), but keep doing it once the feeling passes. I need advice before the bank account dwindles more! Any tips would be good.

For tax purposes, what is the deadline for a year end participant contribution to be deposited in a company 401k plan?

Also, what determines the date that a 401k contribution made by the participant and deducted from my bonus check was "effective" for tax purposes? Is it:

1. 12/28/06 which is the date that the bonus check was issued (net of the 401k contribution I requested to be made),

2. 1/3/07 which is the date when my employer actually wrote the check to make the contribution, or

3. Some other date?

Also, I found that they put the total amount on a revolving account. This is now in dispute - I contacted BBB and the Attorney General of TX. At one point I thought we might have an agreement with the BBB over it, but now the credit card company (GE Care Credit) is pursuing me for payments over the phone. I am not having the procedures done, and am contemplating not paying the credit company . What could happen if I do not pay them? They are not performing the procedures, and the account was opened up with out me being aware of this financing (contract had small lettering disclosing this).

How much do you get paid?
I know that the schooling is about 2 years, but how much does is cost to get this degree?
If you are in this career field, I would love to hear your response!

Also, do you think it might be easier to become a dental assistant? There's less "anatomy" to remember (only teeth instead of the entire bone structure, etc...).
