I was accepted for Gradschool, and starting my Masters in Information Technology on Jan 8, and im a bit worried. I found out that I have to maintain a 3.0 GPA every semester and an overall GPA of 3.5 to stick in the program. Im taking 8 credits, this semester thats two courses. I generally do well on IT courses, but still im worried at the high standards. Undergrad was shitty, i did OK but I could have done better. So my question, what should I expect on the grad program? is this a back breaking study times? Also Im 23, and im not working full time. Im concerened on how to act around with older people, as im thinking some of them might have families and more mature. I feel like im the immature kid and might stick out. I love participating in class, but i dont know if I should filter all my asnwers to make it sound "professional." Its odd really, Undergrad was real easy for me, i mean I felt like i didnt really do much to get a good grade.

I'd also like to know if there is a difference between a DBA and a business license or are they the same. I am looking to start a business as a headhunter this coming year. There is so much advertisement on the internet; it's gets confusing what to do first.

My employer does not pay mileage but instead calculates the mileage rate X the miles, and gives this portion of our pay tax free. He deducts this amount from the gross wages until taxes are taken out. Is this legal? What is my taxable income? My paystubs don't balance. Can I claim mileage since I wasn't truly paid mileage separate from wages?

In my credit report, there is a credit card account which I opened while I was in college 4 years ago. I want to close it but I don't know the full card number - the credit report only shows the first 12 digits. I don't have this card any more.

Can I deduct mortgage interest payments in 2007 off on my taxes? I know that PMI is now deductible and that a committee recommended eliminating the interest deduction, but have been unable to find an answer on the web, particularly the IRS website (which can be confusing).

My accountant sister says the government did away with all mortgage interest deductions, but I can't find evidence to support this on the web. Please link to appropriate documentation in your answer if possible.

Thanks for your help. I recently sold my home and am in a rental. I am thinking that I might need to buy soon since I would come out ahead by owning, particularly if the interest is deductible. If it is not, I probably will rent longer, pay off what few bills I have and save up for a better down payment.

My brother told me that a person has to gross at least $3,000 dollars. Is that true? I was just wondering because I grossed a little more than $4,000 and would really like to file this year since I get to add my son also.

I have a coworker who I had spoke with recently whom happens to own several properties in the Pittsburgh area. I understand that Pittsburgh is an okay real estate market but, I worry that he is in over his head. This past year he has aquired three buildings that are two to three units, the loans are arm's and he has told me that he has not had that much of a positive income because of his tenants owing rent. Recently he has purchased a building that will be a resteraunt and his deal was for another arm for 175, 000 and it was for sale by owner. His home is also arm which it will reach its second year in 2/28 arm and he will have to refinance. he also has two auto loans of greater than 5,000 dollars I am not familiar with real estate but, how likely is he to be successful in a real estate business with all of this debt? I say he is in over his head. Am I wrong?
