Can an employer deduct money from a salaried employee's paycheck to cover the cost of payroll when payroll cost goes over the company's budget. Taking money from a salaried employeee's paycheck to cover his over-ride seems illegal, especially if that employee works six (6) to seven (7) days a week, with no overtime pay, or comp pay to make up for the loss in wages on his/her check.

I am considering opening a bookstore. I love books and think I would enjoy this type of business. However, I have never run my own business before. I am a single mother with some college background in business. Can a bookstore be profitable? Can it be done, since I am a single mother with three kids or is that a long stretch? Also, the town I live in is very small, but there are no bookstores within 1 1/2 hours. Do you think I should make a go of this or chalk it off to wishful thinking?

I'm going to be 18 in 2 months. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how do I go about buying an apartment or a house and paying for it? Who do I call? Do I need a banking account? an ID? how do I get heating and electric? etc etc. Any information or advice someone could give me would be great.

(note: Im not going to be going to a college. And I think if I got a job it would be in the retail or my own business)

Don't people understand that they should make at least SOME
money. If my product cost is $2.50 plus advertising fees plus any miscellaneous fees, why would I sell it for $4.00 ??? Why would I waste time and make .25 cents profit ??? Don't you think, to make it worth one's time, the selling price should be at least $10.00 or more? Some buyers even want the seller to pay shipping and handling. I get really annoyed by this. Hey people.
Make some money!!! It is another term for "getting paid".

I have a bachelor of arts in general studies (basically a liberal arts degree) and a strong background in customer service with related work in sales, operations and telecommunications. . . Any suggestions???

a stranger entered the rental office to the apartment complex i live in. he was attempting to serve me with a summons to appear in court, but didn't have the precise unit in which i live. by asking the leasing agent in the office if she knew me, and getting an answer of yes she did, he dropped off the summons with her and then proceeded to benefit from a default judgement when i didn't appear for the hearing. the leasing agent was not an authorized agent to receive this kind of document in my behalf.
