If my bill has gone to a collection agency, but I want to just keep paying directly to the company that is owed, will the payments I make be applied to my outstanding balance? I don't feel comfortable paying some credit company I've never heard of.

I understand that stocks rise and fall based on the principle of supply and demand, but do these fluctuations have a direct impact on the underlying company? If so, by what mechanism?

I was just wondering which would be better for a company. For instance if the book value per share was like $7, and the fair market value was $6... what is better? I'm confused.

Whenever I finish a project, spreadsheet, etc., I have to forward it to the proper manager and then they take my name off of everything and put theirs on it. This is starting to get irritating. Any ideas?

I've been trying for about a month, but all i ever get it emails trying to get me to buy something and they will pay me a dollar for buying it. or i get a sight where i need to buy yet another database. is anyone really making money or are they all just scams, i'm tired of searching and getting a bunch of junk e-mail. SCENARIO: A 23-year old female is working her way toward obtaining a Bachelor's degree. She and her boyfriend of three years are about to cohabitate. They must choose between a house, condominium and apartment. Their combined annual income is approximately $60,000. She does not like the idea of apartment living since, in her mind, the rent is wasted money and does not go toward owning anything. However, a condo or house are very big commitments and she is not sure if she is ready. Which would be the wisest option for our college student?

THANKS!!

My landlord has been going into people's apartments when they are not home. I would like to know if he is doing the same to me. I need a way to tell if he has opened the door but nothing he would notice to fix before he left. AND I also have to get in the door without causeing the same reaction or else I won't know if it is him or me. I know I didn't say this very well sorry.

So, I'm moving from the Bronx, NY to Portland and I need to get work. Temping, however, isn't going to cut it since I'll need to be making a lot more so I can pay rent and electricity, food, the works. I went to a 5 day drilling course on bartending, got the books and certificate, have the equipment and a stocked bar at home, but have never worked in an actual bar. I've saved up about a month and a half of rent and am putting the move on a credit card? Since I know bartending's fun and a good way to make some cash, I just need to know what's the best way to get a bartending job in Portland.

I am the sous chef, and the executive chef at my work keeps taking my ideas, putting a twist on it and then serving to the GM and Owner when i'm not there to gain recognition and praise. I wouldn't mind if he tweaked some of my recipes if he asked me.. instead he does this on my days off.. now 3 of MY recipes are in the menu as His specialties. Everytime I bring it up he gets defensive and angry and pulls executive status on me.. Help!
