I'm not sure what you should get her that she would like thats relativley inexpensive. But I do think you should explain to her that money is tight this year and for her not to spend too much on you because you won't be able to match it.

Go into a good china shop and get her a coffee mug. You might not be able to afford Wedgwood or Spode but get the best you can for the money. Maybe Coalport does something nice. Don't try to buy jewellery or perfume because what you can get for a tenner probably isn't worth buying.
