I have funds in a Putnam IRA. These funds are corrupt and badly managed with high fees. Can I move them (for example, to Vanguard) without incurring a taxable distribution?

Two late payments (90 day & 30 day) to the Philadelphia gas company (PGW) had negative impact on my credit history. This is the only bad thing on my score. I am applying for mortgage in 10 days and would like this problem to be fixed & removed prior.

1) Can it be removed in a matter of days? (Less then 10)
2) Should I call/ write the gas company or the credit bureau?
3) What EXACTLY should I say/ write when I call the company/ credit bureau?

I am 6 months pregnant and already have 2 little children... so I'm tired... but I don't know if this is the reason for my stupid comments all the time. I do stupid crap at work that makes me come off as not knowing what I'm doing when I really do. Like asking my supervisor a question when I have the answer right in front of me... and while I'm asking him, I realize... there it is! Or, forgetting to make changes to an entire section of a drawing because I'm in a hurry and then it just looks like I didn't know I was supposed to.... It pisses me off!! Is it because I'm tired, or that I'm having brain farts because I'm pregnant, or am I just an idiot?

I currently have £20K stashed away in my bank a/c earning some interest. Lately I have been thinking about investing some of it in some sort of fund/stock/trust - to be honest I have no idea about these things and wondered if someone could advice me where to roughly £3K.

Does anyone know if you are able to choose on each pay check to be exempt from federal tax with holding. In the end...will you have to end up paying back what you owe or will you be penalized in your taxes for choosing this? Even though your not really exempt from the federal tax with holding.

I'm an electrician, a company I used to work for put in a bid on a multi story veterinary facility, they were ask to bid because of the outstanding job that was done at a similar facility for an associate of theirs, they eventually gave the job to another company that had a slightly lower bid ( their bid didn't include a backup generating system). Recently these people called and wanted this company to come and takeover the job because the first contractor had totally screwed up the job, in large part because they hired people off the street with absolutely no training ( and of questionable citizenship )
rather than the collective 200 years of commercial experience that
the other company had. He promptly told them to go take a flying leap and that he didn't want to deal with idiots. The question is what is it with businesses that see only one thing, the bottom line, to the total exclusion of everything else, and give absolutely no thought to what they're getting for their money.

We are in Illinois, and I need to know the laws regarding this timeframe. The original lender said they could not refinance us at a more favorable rate, so we shopped and found another which could. We completed the paperwork, and made a written request that the mortgage be released to the new lender, yet the old company is seeming to stall. I understand they don't want to lose the loan, and that every day (minute!) that they hold onto it, they make more money off of us, but it is over a week now. When we call them, they pleasantly tell us they are so sorry, but there is a delay in processing, and they hope it will take place "by the end of today" (for 4 days now). What is the law regarding this, and how do we proceed? I fear they will delay us so long, that our next payment TO THEM will be soon due. Thanks!
