I am 39 and have been looking for what I really want to do for a very long time. I am now back in school for anthropology. I am broke and miserable and a single mom. (Of course I love my kid and am happy with her) Anyway I always rejected the idea of money cuz I thought other things were more important. Tonight I realized two things, I like helping people and I like having money. How can I help people and make good money at the same time?

I need to know the words to a recent commercial advertising "The Original Mattress Company." I know it starts with something like "Hi, I'm Ron Trzcinski of the Orignal Mattress Company. Consider the spring. No, the bed spring..." If you know any part of the commercial or know where I could find it, it would be helpful.

Let me sum it up , Been there 25 years , good pay and good benefits but terrible management and a very vindictive manager. He passed up some of us older technicians for promotion and promoted a non-union member and didnt even post the job for us to know about it ! I have dreamed of leaving but I can retire in 5 years and I am at the top of the Seniority list . I have a new job lined up in the same field. Should I tough it out or take a chance somewhere else ? This is a tough decision. I do not know what to do ! I dont like going to work and I dont even like my co-workers anymore. But I am in familiar turf. Would you change to a new job at 50 years old under these circumstances ?? Thanks

this is the question and the suggestion he gave us....

A customer comes in to see you. They want to compare 2 loans, both for $150,000. one is a 1 year ARM starting at 4.5% with a 2% annual cap, and a 6% lifetime cap. The other is a 30 year fixed rate at 7.5% they feel that the market will rise, and want you to calculate what they have paid on each loan for the first 5 years, if the ARM increases its maxium each year.

you will need a financial calculator for this one or try one of the online websites that have loan calculators such as www.bankrate.com

our teacher said to get some help form a our banks lending department and i have tried 4 different banks in the area and none of them were willing to help :(

I am the power of attorney for a very sick aunt. I made an oral agreement to sell her car to one of her nieces. The sale price was $6,500. On the DMV paperwork, I listed I sold the car for $1.00 to avoid them paying a NYS sales tax on the whole amount. I received a down payment of $400 and ten payments of $150 each month. Then they stop making payments and refuse to make anymore as they claim I sold them the car for $1.00. What recourse do I have. Do I take them to small claims court. I have nothing in writing. Help.

My question refers to antiques, artwork, and jewelry (loose stones) that may or may not have significant value. My mother owns a lot of Asian art that may total in value anywhere from $10,000 total to potentially $300,000, but, not having been appraised, nobody knows at this point. When my father was alive, he loved to just collect art and jewelry from his travels, not as an investment, but just as someone who loved to collect things. When my Mom passes away, is there any need for me to "declare" anything...or even inform the IRS about any of this artwork? Some would suggest a Trust, but frankly, nobody has time or energy to have this art appraised, etc. now. I don't even see this as necessary because it seems like I could simply 'take possession' of this completely undeclared/unvalued artwork. Is there a flaw in my thinking? What are some risks or recommendations? I guess I am not aware of where the IRS's "radar" lies with assets such as these undeclared, unappraised items.
