Recently inherited two Dr Pepper stock certificates issued in 1978 and 1983, but Dr Pepper now privately owned. Are these worth anything at all?

There's only one way to know for sure... the certificates will have numbers on them. Call a reputable broker and inquire about the certificates using the number... his firm will then research that for you, and I've never heard of a firm charging for this service. You might even be required to actually bring in the certificates... but you have little choice but to go to a brokerage firm to discover their value. Good luck!

Better yet. Dr. Pepper is NOT a privately held company. They are subsidiary of Cadbury Schwepps. Contact them and ask them regarding your stock certificates. The website is below. Good luck.

You'll either have to do the research yourself or find a company that specializes in the process of researching old stock certificates. Of course if they are valuable, you end up paying a percentage of the value.
