I am buying a condo in a new development and paying cash for it. I understand that mortgage lenders require title insurance, but that isn't an issue here. I understand that the insurance is there for peace of mind to protect the large investment, but I don't understand what the risk is, especially since the other 110 new condo owners in the building are likely going to purchase title insurance at the requirement of their lender. The Title Insurance company wants to charge $820 for ALTA Owners Standard Coverage.

passed out as Mechanical Engg in 2002. Was not interested in Mech jobs and IT was sick at that time.So could not get into a software compny. Worked as Tech Support for a reputed MNC for 1.5 years, then I quit the job and learned VB.Net.ASP.Net,C#.Net, SQL Server. I seriously want to be programmer. But consultants and companies neglect tech support exp and do not care for anyone who wants a career change. How do I make a career shift? Do I have to fake my experience as most of the people do? Do I have a straight and honest way before I try the wrong way out?

I really do not like my job at the moment, and I want to know if it's necessary to still give in 2 weeks notice if you haven't finished your 3 months probation. I don't have a problem finding jobs at all, but I'm professional about all my jobs so I have no problem giving in this 2 weeks notice. Plus I'm not one to just walk out and leave. This is the first time I've left anywhere without staying a significant amount of time. Please help!! Thanks.

My renter has informed me he wants to be paid for the work he has done to the house he is renting from me. This is the first I have heard of this, and of course I have never given any approval for him to do any work for me. So I don't think I owe him anything, right? Also I have a policy of not having my renter do any kind of work for me.

Hi Everybody,
What is the average price of the HDFC mudra gold bar ( 5 g )and ICICI Pure Gold ( 8 g ) nowadays? For higher weights are the prices proportional?
Does anybody have any idea whether there is huge difference between the prices of these banks and the market price?

I have more than 6 years of hands-on experience on the mega oil sands projects in Alberta, Canada in feasibility study, detail engineering design, project controls, cost accounting, commissioning & start-up, project coordination and project management.

I am going to complete my MBA degree in April 2007 which focus on Energy and Finance.

Could you please guide me where I can earn more value for my experience and MBA education - investment banking, equity research, resources development in oil company, corporate finance in oil company, business development/marketing, etc?

Please suggest.
