the 27 year old has a BFA in illustration and the 29 year old has an AA in auto body repair. Both are good workers, never miss work, show up for work everyday on time and clean and sober, yet they get passed over for employment by addicts and alcoholics. They are out every day looking for work and up all night on the computer looking. And nothing is happening. The 27 year old has $50,000+ in student loans that he has defaulted on and is in a very deep depression because of it. Why can't they find work?

I am a 31 year old guy. I graduated in political science and history. The problem is that I can never understand the technical aspects of the jobs I accept. All of the other trainees do better than I do. I am working a state job that requires a person to understand a complex computer system. There is so much law and policy to understand. I am a public assistance specialist. All of this info is going over my head! And the other trainees are picking it up. This happened to me also on a state job where I was an unemployment adjudicator (made decisions on cases). If I have a high I.Q. and got almost a 4.0 in college and can work well with others, why can't I understand policy? Is a certain part of my brain not functioning? I just can't process technical information. Maneuvering around on screens is also hard for me. I have failed on many jobs because of this. I get the feeling that employers like my personality, but they have to let me go because I can't comprehend the job. I try hard!

I currently have an account with a pretty popular bank and I am very dissappointed with their service. I am a full time college student and I am considering closing my account with the bank and opening one up with a credit union. What exactly are the advantages of a credit union? Would it be a good option for college student, especially if I may have to take out loans within the next few years??

He says he'll call us if he has work for us. Is it right to just send us home? Should he give us a letter stating that there is no work for us?

As I am presently not working and building a craft business I need a $5,000.00 US loan for 1 month to pay the costs of filing the final papers with the courts in the UK to be able to transfer the funds to the US. The only thing left is pay the filing fees with the courts, registrar's office and with the bank where the money is being held. My lawyer for uncle's estate (investigated, a reputable one in Birmingham UK) assures me that when the cost of the paperwork is filed the grant of disposition will be issued, all the court paperwork to claim me beneficiary are done and sealed with the courts. This grant of disposition will allow me to transfer it to my name at the bank there and transfer to my account here in the US. I then could return the Loan with interest agreed upon. It is possible to settle within the next few days if I can get the loan soon enough, if that happens then I can pay the loan and interest in 2 weeks when the transfer is done. Please I need a solution fast

I am thinking about renting a room. Before I ask my question I would like to explain my living situation now. I just got out of an apt where I was living with my friends, we got into an argument and in the end I was stuck paying for the entire months rent, bills, and repairs to the apt (not to mention cleaning EVERYTHING) since my roommates didn't help at all. Anyway my question is HOW safe is renting a room? I really don't want the same type of thing to happen (meaning I could get screwed out of money or something), is there a type of renters insurance that would cover if the people I was renting the room from decided to steal my stuff, what if they stole all my items what could I do? I could really use any other information as well, thanks for the information in advance.

i really need legal help on this. in the divorce 2002 i got a piece of property. by may of 2004 my ex had ruined my income on that property and put me in a position to sell it back to him. i agreed after stating that the only way i would was an exchange of prior marital assets so that i did not have to pay taxes on the gains of the sale. i gave my brother power of attorney to close the deal for me because i was out of the USA. somehow my ex screwed me and his attorney 1099ed me to the tune of over $100,000 to pay taxes on...to the feds and the state i owe almost $25,000.00 I don't have the money and my acct says she sees no way that i don't owe this. i'm not faulting her. is there anything that i can do legally about this...i am just so tired of trying so hard to do the right thing and then getting screwed any way...my ex was always stiffing the government when he really owed them..and this is one more thing he pulled on me and is laughing about. forgive me i feel sorry for myself
