If i buy from wholesellers overseas and want to sell in the united states, is there a level in which i have to begin to pay a sales tax? Or do i have to since the begining, also is there a limit on when to register my business or do have to since the first sale? I live in WI

Uncle Sam wants his cut of the money from the begining! Registering your buisness is a local (city) issue...every city is a little different.

You don't have to pay sales tax to those overseas, but you will have to pay it to the WI State Gov't (if they have sales tax...Montana doesn't, for example). First your business has to be registered, then you are supposed to report all sales (and you can charge sales to those you sell to) and pay the state the required percentage of your business income. Yes, you have to from the first sale.

If you are purchasing these items to resell them, then you do not have to pay sales tax on your purchases. However, when you do sell them, you will have to collect WI sales tax. Also, if you have any physical presence in another state like IL or MN, then you have to collect sales tax for those states as well.

AS SOON AS YOU SEEL ANYTHING YOU HAVE TO PAY SALES TAXES. YOU BETTER NOT COME TO TN AND START SELLING THINGS BEFORE YOU LEARN THE TAX LAWS.THE TN DEPT OF REVENUE WILL PUT YOU UNDER THE JAIL IF YOU FAIL TO PAY EVERYPENNY YOU OWE THEM
