I am a 31 year old guy. I graduated in political science and history. The problem is that I can never understand the technical aspects of the jobs I accept. All of the other trainees do better than I do. I am working a state job that requires a person to understand a complex computer system. There is so much law and policy to understand. I am a public assistance specialist. All of this info is going over my head! And the other trainees are picking it up. This happened to me also on a state job where I was an unemployment adjudicator (made decisions on cases). If I have a high I.Q. and got almost a 4.0 in college and can work well with others, why can't I understand policy? Is a certain part of my brain not functioning? I just can't process technical information. Maneuvering around on screens is also hard for me. I have failed on many jobs because of this. I get the feeling that employers like my personality, but they have to let me go because I can't comprehend the job. I try hard!
