I am done working for this year, and could really use my tax refund now, instead of later. Can I file early based on my final paycheck stub?

You have to wait until this year's tax regulations are finalized. That won't happen until the end of the year. However, you can ask for your W-2's. If your employer is willing to give them to you that early, then you can file in early January.

No. You won't get your W-2 or 1099's until January 2007.

No
You will still have to wait until the end of this year,(when fiscal ends). Your employer does not have your W-2 statement,so you might as well "Get back to work". (Sorry!)

No. How does the IRS know you won't earn anymore this year? Do you expect them to take your word for it?

Theoretically yes, but, being the tax regs for 2006 are not complete, you can not!
