i am working full time and paying taxes on my pay checks every year (company that i work for).

This year i started to work as a free-lancer as well. i make websites and get checks from my clients. I heard if my free-lance work is less then 10,000 then i dont have to pay any tax, is that true?

i pay alot of tax from my full time job and my free-lance work this years is around $15000, so should i file for this $15000, or should i let it go (as i am paying tax from my full time job already), is it extremely important to pay my tax on this amount? can i get in big trouble?

BTW i am in NY, USA.

Thanks

I have asked my bosses for a raise because I make 14.50 an hour have been with the company for three years and was recently promoted to Office Manager.
Here is what I do. I keep track of three bosses, I am the only full time office employee with the best days-on record, I know every job, every invoice, do all of the bookkeeping, clean, run errands, organize...blah blah blah. We are a fairly small town and the only engineering company in the region. I feel undercompensated.

Signed up for a new checking acct couple of weeks ago.Checks show up 6 days, good.Debit card supposed to be next,13 days no card no PIN.Call from bank,"Oh,they sent your new card to our office in Ocheechobee,Fl.""but Idon't know why"She said."They sent it to this branch where you signed up at by mail.Don't worry if they sent your PIN to 0cheechobee,you can change it here when you come by and pick up your card".My question:I really just wanted the card sent STRAIGHT to me,with a PIN sent STRAIGHT to me a couple days later in a sealed envelope. Now if Iwalk into that bank and the card is out of it's envelope,I would feel violated, like someone read my mail,I just don't want to get a card several people had access to it who are not my usual "vendors".Someone could stick me good with a purchase later on,When I am not paying attention and fail to protest the purchase in a timely manner.Could the bank be crooked?Should I refuse the new card, which is about the last item I want lost in the mail

One of the speakers was tallking about hugging and he said I quote, "hug your house twice a day, and that will keep your troubles far far away." Now he corrected himself after the laughter died down, but my question remians, was that funnny?

We are trying to start a retail business with a great idea. We are both under 30 and have retail management experience. We know we would ideally need about $30,000 to comfortably get this off the ground. However we bothhave bd credit. Does anyone have experience with finding a lending angel or accessing government loan programs that are hidden from plain view? We have no equity to present, and are beginning to think it may be a hopeless cause. We dont want to regret missing this oppourtunity later. We have been best friends for almost 18 years, and are currently stay-at-home moms.
