hi.. I have been a server for a while and getting burned out on it. Just got an offer at Olive garden as a server (duh)...for 2.13 per hour/tips. Or a cashier's position at Lowe's for $9.17 per hour. I am not sure which one to take. Anybody ever work for either company? I hear Lowe's is a great company to work for, I don't know. Tired of the food industry personally. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. I know as a server in the past, people are cheap. Especially if I would be working at OG it would be strictly lunches. Help!!! Thanks!

Why do supermarkets start closing checkouts when the queues start getting longer. Would it not make sense to get the customers thruogh , Instead of making them block up the aisles .

We just refinanced and closed on Tuesday night - we are expecting money back along with our bills to be paid. What is the average time that it takes to receive the money? It seems to me it was about a week the last time we did this, but I wasn't sure if every time was different.

I have purchased photo equipment from BH photo thru the internet. I did not recieve the merchandise which is lost or stolen. BH insist that this is my problem and not theirs.

My husband works at a car dealership. His sales manager is the husband to a sales associate. This manager keeps taking deals from husband and gives them to his wife.....I didn't think one family member could work with another and be in charge of them too!!! Anyone know anything about this?

How does one calculate financial payback for an investment in solar power? I think it should be:

yearly savings x growth in tariff - discounted savings - O & M costs

Now, should interest on investment and depreciation be deducted from annual savings too?

Do the IRS tax your personal income by dollar per dollar, meaning for every dollar, they tax 17% out of the whole, or is it based on a certain income bracket?

For example, if I make 1,500 per month, I will be tax 17%; but if I make 1,501, I will be tax 18%?

Or is it a flat tax where if I belong in a certain income bracket, I will only need to pay the same amount of tax as other in the same bracket. Such as a person, earning 1,500 will pay $200 taxes and I earning $2,000 will also pay $200? The cap on the bracket is $2,500 and if you make $2,501 you will be tax $300

Really confuse here. I might be going about this all wrong. Please help me to understand the average person income tax?

A full page avertisement in a British newspaper supplement, advertises the company's loans and gives the following example:-
Loan amount £75,000
Number of months 300
Monthly payments required £562.47
Based on annual percentage rate (APR) of 7.9%
These payments do not include any any loan insurance etc

Calculating by the mathematically correct formula, I get the monthly repayments £560.48
The difference is appreciable. How do they get their result?
If I am correct, how is it that companies are allowed to deceive their customers?

I own a Call Option for Scholastic Corporation (ticker:SHCL) It is a March 2007 Call option/ Strike Price of $35.00. My broker told me that if it hits the strike price the call option will EXECUTE automatically. My question: When it executes, is the call option contract worth $35.00, or $3,500.00?

mixed up when I was in the hospital. 3 yrs later when I'm pretty much "back to normal" all of a sudden a garnishment shows up on my account. No warning, no letters, no nothing. True I've lived in different places when I was released from my 3month hospital stay (mainy my parents) so maybe the warnings got lost in the mail but, can they do this? Take legal action without a response from me noting that I've recieved their warnings? Anyway, moving from here on out: How long will it be on my credit report, can I get it expunged? can i pay bills off like no other to try and off set the damage? Will I ever be able to get that house, car, boat, whatever? Please help....WHAT CAN I DO!!!?!?!?!?
