try the one of your friends first,,, and after a while, if they have any friends that require your service, promote your self

to bad you dont live in washington state i would let you babysit i have a 4 year old. you might include that you have a good refrence background and that those refrences could be contacted upon request if needed and that you have no criminal background wich can be checked also. i know i would not leave my 4 year old with someone that did not have refrence's for a good work history or if thay had a criminal background. all of us mothers just want the best for our children and want to know thay are in good safe hands

Have you tried posting these at your local churches and grocery stores? Also perhaps your local news paper as well in the classifieds.
Other than that your ad looks great specifying what you're able to do and such. Just give it time... also maybe contact other people you've babysat for from before and ask them to send word of mouth.
Good luck

I am surprised that no pervs are asking for that picture. I would certainly drop that. Seriously.

I wouldn't look for a babysitter on-line. We got ours by asking other parents and such. I would think that you would have better luck with a flier in the neighborhood and letting the parents that you work for now, know that you are looking for more work. Or just talk to people out walking in your neighborhood. You will have better luck staying close to home and it will be safer for you.

I got my first baby sitting jobs through my mother. When people she knew talked about needing a baby sitter she'd tell them that I baby sat and they'd give me a call. I ended up with a few regulars that way. Once they get to know you they'll tell their friends about you and you can expand. Ask your mom to put in a good word for you when she hears of anyone needing babysitting services. This is also a good method because you aren't sitting for someone that you don't know at all. My mother would have never recommended me to someone she didn't trust. Also, when I moved from Tx to NY I didn't know anyone here and was afraid to leave my daughter with anyone. Then I got to know my elderly neighbor and she told me her granddaughters babysat. I called them and used them for several years. So your grandmother, aunt, anyone who knows you could put in a word for you with people they know. Ask them.

I don't think most parents will feel confortable getting a baby sitter from the internet. Try handing out fliers or an ad in a anewspaper.

There is no way in hell I would allow someone I don't know well to babysit my children and most every other parent I know feels the same way.

It's not 1950 anymore.

Tatiana,

Why don't you volunteer your services at your community hospital in the children's ward. This would be good experience.

When people see how good you are with children you can give them a card with your contact information on it...
