I certainly think so for one. We've in a sense made money our God and those without it are, I suppose lost. Not that it is right to worship money, because its the root of all evil. What's your view?

I agree with you 100% honey...Money helps us live but at the same time, kills us inside...For people believe money is the reason we have what we have or what we don't have....Money has nothing to do with anything..Yes we need it to live....But only all things are possible....with the Creator (Man above)...I'm not religious but I know where I stand with God and know that I have the things I have due to him...

The constitution of the united states is a terribly flawed work. A patchwork of unworkable compromises that creates a Government as practical as a pet elephant. Though just like the elephant, it will at least keep most robbers away. It has it's uses, and has certainly held this country together but I would greatly prefer a real government with a king. Even given all of this separation of Church and state is not in the constitution. All the constitution says is that the government cant recognize an establishment of religion (a badly worded way of saying we can't have an official church) and that it can't forbid the free exercise thereof ( a badly worded way of saying it cant stop us from worshiping how we want). The idea of separation of church and state, as it's taught here in this country, is an offense to all thinking people. Properly the Church should be protected from influence by the state but the state should be subject to the Church.

Not just Americans but anyone who's driven by ambition, and lust, and wants to grow in their lives, needs more money to fulfill those dreams. I had taken a Business Management course in my college where we used to have a guest professor from a B-school with whom I had discussed my ideas. These are some pearls of wisdom collected from practial viewpoint:

1. If your ideas, no matter how big or noble, are NOT translated into DOLLARS, they are useless.

2. Money is the ROOT cause of all EVIL. The problem is even when you follow the path of GOD, and want to do something for your society and country, you need MONEY.

I agree people are becoming increasingly money-minded on trivial matters, but that is what happens to all adults. Our world, all businesses, everything is MONEY-ORIENTED. Sportspersons are not known by the number of Olympic Medals they won, but the number of sponsorships, and amount of prize money they received. Same goes for Movie Actors. Tom Cruise demands $25 million for Mission Impossible-3 which FLOPS later. Hollywood celebrities have pre-nuptial agreements before marriage, worth millions of dollars. Middle-classes want new cars, new fancy electronic gadgets, want to put their kids in expensive colleges. The very purpose of a businessman or entrepreneur, is to make more profits, or make more money. When we talk of growth rate of 8-10% of emerging economies like China and India, we are basically talking of an INCREASE in MONEY. Money, Money, Money---any news and business channel basically focuses on this simple question.

TIRED? If I waste more time on your stupid question, I take the risk of delaying my client's work (I am a freelancer basically), so I risk losing MONEY.

Is there no hope? Well. there is. People want money because it makes them feel 1)More Secure 2)More Powerful These ideas are nothing but a by-product of MATERIALISTIC beliefs. If you become spiritual, these ideas don't affect you at all. You earn only as much as you need, and live. You don't go hungry for MORE. Mahatma Gandhi once said, "There is enough in this world for Man's need, but not enough for Man's greed."

So bottomline, if you're willing to lead a simple life by the word of Lord (whatever religion you follow), and abandon the two fears above, you won't even bother about this question. Also, it's important you shouldn't feel jealous when you see your friends and neighbors richer, and more powerful than you. Can you do it? If you choose to define a life without the need of money, you'll be a crusader, a great man, and the world will like you one day if you can show perseverance.

"Anyone can swim with the tide. But, it takes a real man to swim against the tide."

Take an example. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, the two richest men in the world, recently pledged they would donate everything they had to charity!!

THIS, after earning all the money in the world.

Some money is very good and absolutely necessary, other wise we starve and live in the street, like some people in Asia and Africa do every day.

More money allows us to become educated and comfortable, and on the whole better people. People who live in more expensive neighborhoods are more pleasant and less aggressive than those who live in poor ones.

But too much money spoils people, especially women, unless it has been in the family for many generations, as with the old aristocracy in Europe.

It is not money that is the problem, it is the nature of man, that is so easily corruptible.

worship?america is a sinful nation therefore coz worshipping worldly thing will bring u to pit of fire.
i don't think so, though i'm not an american, i think let's not generalize americans and humanity perse. that is not fair.
besides though its a lil passe to say that love makes the world goes around but still i see the truth on it. u work hard to be accepted, u want to earn money to support ur loved ones, isn't that an act of love?greediness and selfishness is a different story but i'm answering u on my personal opinion.lets view america as a powerful nation with financial resources w/c is abundant but i supposed americans are not like pacmans devouring over money. i think u too are sensible race with a lot of heart, and i'm a filipino, our country recieved financial aids fr ur country, though it raised many opinions but amercans did helpd us in any way ryt...pple with no money are not lost but i think they are deprived with worldly things but what if their family is harmonious with fillial children, industrious dad and awesome mom, a family full of love despite of financial difficulties, dya think they are lost? i don't think so, they are lucky to live a life of scarcity yet with joy. besides it's only a state of mind, if ur contedted with what u have then so be it, work hard and u will be compensated, do good and u will be rewarded but don't do it at the expense of other pple, that will lead u to do a sin.

Boy, I'm not touching this question.

Don't you find it funny how Catholics and other religions seem to worship money far more then Atheists? They always have their hands out? Some of the most expensive buildings and architecture in this country are churches? And the Vatican....?????
