If your minmum payment for your credit card is $100.00 & if you can't make the minimum and you ask to pay lower than that or if you just send in a lower amount will this go against your credit score? My son is having trouble making the minimum payments and I was wondering if you would just send in an amount lower than the minimum or renegotiate the minumum if would mess up his credit. He wants to pay off his debt and will but needs some time to get financialy situated to do so.
Thanks for any guidance or help.

I don't like it. I'm actually terrified of this class. I hate math and I'm a slow learner.
Am I just overwhelmed? Is it not that bad?

I know there are a million online calculators for this stuff but I'd like real-person opinions.

If you are retired - what age did you retire at, how much annual income did you allocate, and what level of "luxury" or lack there of has it given you? Just curious how my retirement plan compares to reality....

You are told to deposit the money and send it to their designated agent and then they will send you your winnings ($225,000.00) once you do. The strange thing is that it is a Wells Fargo Bank check that looks legit! Are they just trying to get my account number? If the check goes through and I decide to keep the money, would I be held responsible if something went wrong or would they be the ones to get in trouble? It all smells a little fishy to me, but this one is a first!

The cost of getting loan repayment protection on a £17000 unsecured personal loan over 36 months is an extra £90 per month! Surely there must be cheaper alternatives to this that offer the same cover benefits.
Can you get covered after you have started making repayments?

We're moving and considering our options on what to do. We have a total of about 30K in debts from a student loan, a home equity loan, and an auto loan. We also have a home where we still owe the same amount as when we first purchased it, but the value of the house has increased by at least 50%. We both have good jobs and are able to pay down the debt that we owe at a rate of about 5-7K/yr. We are considering two options for our future finances. Which one is better?

A) If we sell the house, we could sell it for enough of a profit where we could pay off our 30K in debts, and still have enough money to put down 10% on a new house. The money that we are using to pay off debt would now become additional income for us. So we could be entirely debt free.

B) Keeping the house and opening it up for a rental property. We would have to continue to pay off our debt, but at a faster rate b/c we have a new source of income. This ~$500/mo could be long term after our debt is gone.

A or B?

All the numbers on my portfolios keep changing colors and changing values. The total is right at the very beginning for a second, then it changes to another number. The computer clicks with each change. Last week it was just the total, now it is all the numbers on the file. Poltergeists? I've had these portfolios on Yahoo for seven years so I don't think it is me going crazy!!!!!

Hi, I'm planning a little--umm--'Party'. Bunches of questions here:

Could you please tell me what kind of privacy I might expect in a hotel (or motel) etc. if I want to have a with about 6-10 people. There will be drinks at the bar and porn on the tv and couple and triples laying around the room.

Do I have to tell the hotel I'm expecting guests? Or can they just drop in?

As long as we're quiet and respectful, we can do pretty much what we want behind closed doors, right?

Or do I have to worry about getting thrown out of the hotel (or even arrested) because the maid or the room service waiter saw something that they didn't like.

What's my best bet for getting the best room at the best rate? I expect to be hosting several events throughout the year in different areas.

I'm starting to get really bad at figuring out stocks. Sometimes, it goes up or down regardless of the news about the company. Today, it's up more than 10% which is good for me, but I'd like to know exactly what evenement caused this.

I know the market is down now..but still..those new houses aren't worth it...are they? Why do we let builders sell us on this crap?
