Hi, I'm planning a little--umm--'Party'. Bunches of questions here:

Could you please tell me what kind of privacy I might expect in a hotel (or motel) etc. if I want to have a with about 6-10 people. There will be drinks at the bar and porn on the tv and couple and triples laying around the room.

Do I have to tell the hotel I'm expecting guests? Or can they just drop in?

As long as we're quiet and respectful, we can do pretty much what we want behind closed doors, right?

Or do I have to worry about getting thrown out of the hotel (or even arrested) because the maid or the room service waiter saw something that they didn't like.

What's my best bet for getting the best room at the best rate? I expect to be hosting several events throughout the year in different areas.

The number of adults are often limited per room. A room with two queens can accomodate five adults. Some suites can accomodate more but you would have to ask the hotel staff.

You can just tell your friends your room number and they can go knock on your door at their lesuire or you can give the front desk a list of individuals that are allowed to know your rm # and they can direct them to your rm.

Normally after 10pm is more of quiet time. Loud rowdy rooms will be called and asked to settle down. If noise continues and guests continue to complain then the police will be called in to fine you with noise disturbance. If you refuse to settle down you can be kicked out and will not get a refund.

If you do anything illegal and housekeeping finds it it is almost always reported to the proper authorities. Needles or drug smells lurking in the hall will have the cops at your door.

To get the best rate stay.. just ask. Ask if they have any special promotions right now or if you sign up for their frequent stay program if you will be offered a discount. Also AAA often offers discounts. Often is you book a block of rooms at once a hotel will offer you a percentage off.

I have worked in a hotel in the past and my opinion is... as long as you do not disturb anyone or break any laws then what goes on your in your room is your business. However, if these guests will be spending the night or staying late in the room it is important that the hotel know this... because if there is an emergency (say a fire or gas leak) the fire department needs an accurate count of people in the hotel to assure all people are evacuated. So keep it within the law and have fun.

as long as u're not trashing the room or making enuf noise to disturb other guests, there should be no problem. they usually have a sign that u can put on the door that says u're ready for maid service; as for the waiter, just tell him to leave the food outside & u'll get it later. hope u have fun.

some hotels don't allow this better ask before you spend your money otherwise you'll be spending your night in jail.
