I would like to know what to do about refinancing my home or if equity loans are best suited for my needs. I bought my house 3 years ago with a no down first time home owner mortage. I got a 5/1 ARM at 6.125% which will be over in 2008. I want to get a fixed rate now locked in but also would like to boworrow money to pay off debt and do some remodeling and consolidate into one payment. The property is appraised at $ 150,000 and the principal is $ 113,000 will I be able to accomplish my goal? I figure I would need $ 20,000 to pay off the debt and get some things fixed , Any advice would be appreciated.

How valued is a masters from the UK in the US, and what are my chances of getting a good job in the US versus if i get a masters for the same program in the US?

I was wondering if you collect partial Social Security Disability and work the minimum, would you still be able to purchase a home or is it something that comes up on the credit report?

and never paid it off. The law firm wants to garnish my wages if I go to court (I am trying to settle with them out of court). How much can they garnish my wages? I live pay check to pay check. All but about 300 dollars a month goes to things I need to live such as rent, elec., gas, phone, food, gas for car etc. Do you think if I submitted an itemized list of what my monthly expenses are to a judge he'd would allow them to take 25% of my wages? (The lawyers claim they will get 25% of my wages until it’s paid off) If they take 25% I will loose everything. To me it doesn’t make any sense that a judge would allow them to take so much of my money that it would cause me to become homeless and loose my job. If I loose my job then they don't get paid off. What should I do? Settle out of court? Or should take a chance that a judge will see that I am poor and don’t have the means to pay it off?

I am 17 years old with many volunteer experience and a work experience but never have been employed for a real job. I've been a little, er, desperate for a job lately, but i'm pretty picky--i dont want to work at a fastfood place, instead i want to work at a video store since it is my biggest interest..(movies, entertainment). I;ve thought about applying for local theatres (my second choice)

I would like to know what the age limit is to work at, say blockbuster and the qualifications/skills they would look for or expect. Do the employer train you if you get hired, as well?

I'm a high school dropout with absolutely no work history, and I was wondering how I could get a data entry or office job if I have no education or have never had a job before. Almost all office jobs, even the lowest paying ones, require education and at least 1 year of previous experience. All I know is Microsoft Word 2000 and other basic computer skills and I'm very good in math. Could anyone help me out? Is there a paying data entry or office job out there that requires no education or experience, just basic computer skills? Could anyone help me find the data entry or office job I've been looking for? Thanks so much.

I own 50 acres of land (a 40 acre parcel and a 10 acres parcel with separate tax ID numbers, but which were purchased with one mortgage). The house and buildings sit on the 40 acres. The other 10 are unimproved Ag zoned. I want to put a business on the adjoining acres, including putting up a new building. I want it to be separate from my home, and I want to be able to sell it separately, perhaps, in the future. If I want to get a mortgage for the new building, do I have to separate the 10 acres from the other 40 so that the 10 acres has a clear title? What are the chances that my bank will do this for me (I have paid 5 years of a 15 year mortgage - I had originally put down 20%). How should I negotiate this wtih the bank for the best possible outcome which is to get a clear title on the 10 acres without paying too much or anything.
