I have one and I am in my early teens. My mom had to sign onto the account with me because I am a minor. It depends on your bank, some won't allow anyone under 18, but others will allow teenagers to get one with parents on the account.

when you open a checking account, you will get a debit card. If your parents sign with you, you could get one now I guess. I know you can at my bank, because my daughters friend has one.(the checking account is a joint checking account with her moms name on it, too.) Im sure you would have to be 18 to get a checking account of your own. Most banks have great student checking benefits.
