I have an IRA acct and want to withdraw $40,000. I was told the bank has to withhold 10% for taxes, and another 10% penalty because I am under 59 1/2 (I think this was the age). Will I be able to deduct that 10% penalty from my taxes next year? Serious answers only please.....Thanx.

I'm in a financial rut right now and I've been contemplating whether or not to sell my benz. I still owe $6000 on it, but I have credit cards, and other things to pay off. My dad drives an Acura that has some miles on it, but it's paid off, and he's thinking about buying a new car anyway. $6000 or a lil more would pay off all my debt, and I'd be debt free. I live at home right now, so I wouldn't owe any payments on anything, and that way I could save up to later put a down payment on a new car. I need help though because I LOVE my car so I'm having a tough time making a decision, any suggestions?? Could I sell my benz for a lil more than what I owe on it?

My wife and me are considering moving over to the Boston area from Germany. Can anybody recommend which areas would be the preferred one's to go for? Our preference is not to live directly in Boston but maybe within a radius of about 25 miles around Logan airport, in a neighborhood with mostly single family homes.

Thanks a lot in advance!

A company put on my credit report that I didn't pay a bill; however, I did pay it. I called the company and they told me they would have it removed off my credit report within thrity days. Well, thirty days goes by and it still wasn't removed. I called transunion and disputed the information, and gave them the name of the person who told me that they would remove it off my report. About a month later I got an updated credit report, but instead of it being deleted they only updated it as paid. I called the company back up and spoke to the same manager I did before. She told me that she would write them a letter to have it removed. Thrity days later it is still on there. I dispute it again and all I get is a letter saying that it has been verified, and it is not only on transunion, but equifax as well.

DO those investment seminars as advertised on TV (eg 4X) really work. Can you make money as an inexperienced day trader?

I did not see any dividend or earning per share listed for EADS.PA, the parent of Airbus (in Yahoo Finance, of course!); while they are not required to comply with Sarbaines-Oxley, I still think they would want to advertise these attributes to induce more stock purchases.

IF they are not actually paying out any dividend, what is the point of holding the stock? It certainly isn't going to see any dramatic growth, like a dot-com stock. Also, France OWNS 15% of the stock, Spain 5% and Germany a chunk as well; if these stocks don't pay out, aren't they just interest free loans?
