My wife and me are considering moving over to the Boston area from Germany. Can anybody recommend which areas would be the preferred one's to go for? Our preference is not to live directly in Boston but maybe within a radius of about 25 miles around Logan airport, in a neighborhood with mostly single family homes.

Thanks a lot in advance!

If you're not looking to live in the city, pick a suburb! Some very nice ones are Wellesley, Newton, Weston, and Needham. Head to the south shore and there are places like Norwell, Marshfield, and Quincy which are all on the ocean. Immedietely outside of the city you will find Dedham and Norwood, they are nice, as well as very close to the city. It all depends on how much you are looking to spend, but there are plenty of nice areas to choose from.

there a lot of towns 25 miles from Boston like the one you describe. I live in Franklin which is about 25 miles and we have a train that goes in to the city about 15 times a day. Its mostly single family homes but very expensive but in the area there is bellingham, walpole, norfolk and wrentham to name a few.
