A promissory note payable to me, was signed by the borrower in the presence of myself, and a notary. However, she didn't have her stamp with her. Is this still a valid document? She (the notary) said it was, because her commission hasn't expired, she verified i.d., etc. But now that the borrower has not repaid the sum, we are going to court. If my unstamped-but-notary-signed document isn't valid, I need to know!! Thanks!

The state I live in is Louisiana, and it is a community property state. What happens if you get married in another state just to avoid these laws, then go back to the CP state to avoid these laws, is this possible?

Personally I think Ebay is a rip-off. They have so many charges, and I don't like the buying enviornment. http://www.tratosnow.com/exchange.html was a good substitute for me and it is free. I like buying and selling there.

I'm in the process of starting up my own clothing company in Florida. I will purchase blank apparel, print my designs on them, and resell them to stores or boutiques. What do I need to do to register my business, apply for taxes, and get everything legal before I launch? I also plan to eventually sell my clothing online at my own website. Do I need to fill out seperate paperwork?

I am needing a report to show what we spent with certain vendors for this year and a report to show what we spent each month. I have the vendor balance summary that shows what we spent all year, but when I try to narrow that down to monthly, my numbers aren't changing. I need a monthly report that doesn't include the total from the previous month in the total.

I have spent over 15 years working in customer service. All of working experience has been in retail sales and support. Over the past 8 yeas I have been working in Technical Support, IT Support and Network Support. All I know these days is how to work with customers to resolve technical problems. Now I want to break into Technical Sales, but without the inside/outside sales experience I am not sure how to grab an employer’s attention. I am confident enough with my customer service skills and am an excellent communicator, but I do lack the “Sales” experience. What can I put on my resume to emphasize my customer service background and make an employer realize that I am a worthy candidate for a sales position?

After an extensive interview and going a total of 4 hours of testing I was offered the postion. I REALLY want to take it because it will be a step up. The company contacted me, not the other way around so I know they need me. Only problem is that they are offering me the same salary that I am currently making. How can I get them to go up? And staying at this job is not an option I want to consider.

I work for a small business (approx. 30 people). My title is Sales and Advertising Coordinator. I develop, create and place all the print ads for my company (I'm the only one with a Mac). I have been a graphic designer for about 4 years and at the current job 2 years. I make about 50K.

I'm happy here but life happens and I now need more money to support my ailing parents.

I need to know realistically, how much do people with similar jobs make in the advertising industry. I like my company and my company likes me but they just can't afford to offer me more money.
