Any web site you CAN get for free is not going to represent your business in a very professional manner.

If you want one cheap. Email.

Nothing that will look or function like a professional website. Geocities offers free websites, but without a unique domain name and a good design, your site will be virtually useless, and could even hurt your image.

If you're willing to learn how to do some of it yourself, you can check out Globat.com. They offer cheap webhosting a use of a free html editor and templates to help you design your own website.

You must not have much of a business if the $500 or so it costs to get a website up is too much to invest.

Just getting the website up is just the beginning. In order for it to do anything for you, you need to have good content that is optimized for search engine placement (there's an art to this and unless you can do it yourself, it costs money), and you'll need to pay for engine placement (or wait for around 9 months to show up).

The free search engine submissions sites do not submit to any of the majors and none of the biggies take business sites for free (they will, eventually pick them up..but it takes months as indicated above).

Then you need to figure out how to advertise and market your website. I use an email newsletter (software cost $350 plus $50 a year for the email account), Yahoo and Google CPC ads. I spend around $70 a month which is very low. I also send out press releases to the local media every 6 weeks.

I'm lucky in that I have the skills to do it all for myself. I learned from books, other professionals and info on the Internet.

If you're not prepared to invest in your business, you can expect it to fail.

properly i began out with weebly that is without spending a dime yet i began out to get annoyed with how constrained the features are. while you're making some thing somewhat somewhat trouble-free than weebly will paintings yet once you like greater features than i advise a builder talked approximately as "5 minute builder" that is what i take advantage of for all my web pages now and that i like it great trouble-free to apply yet in addition has a ton of features too
