There is no reason that both cannot be true. In the first part, there is nothing which says that the "Interdependent processes" are not specialized nor individual. Which also means that simply because a process is speicalized and individual that it is not interdependent on anotherprocess or processes.

so, both would be true statements.

Both are true and almost saying the same thing. Traditional management is correct in that each is an interdependent process; in flow and out flow, as well as individual processes which are specialized. Take product development, they receive input from - execs, marketing, etc.. but are unique in certain facets of product realization, then out put to manufacturing, procurement, etc. The execution of the job and the life cycle determine which theory is defining it at that given time.
