i natural, thick, long, kind of straight hair. some parts here and there are a bit wavy. it's pretty much impossible to get my hair curly, i've tried everything. i'm not sure if i should get a perm or not because a) i'm afraid i might damage it, or once my perm is out i won't have my straight hair, b) my hair is so thick that the perm will look awful, c) that the perm will last for 2 months due to the thickness of my hair.
Is it worth getting a perm?

I was wondering if anyone out there could help me decide which shampoo and conditioner would probably work best for me. I have thin, kind of curly hair. I want to enhance the curls but It's been dyed before. Any help? I'm trying to pick between KMS Curl Up, John Frieda or Gurl Friend Curly. Please help!

The only way I can have great looking hair is if I blow dry it every day and then straighten. Is that really bad for my hair? I have been doing it continuously for about a week but I dont notice any drying of the hair, even at the ends. Is it still ok to do?

This one dude was talking about how he had to "straighten" his hair because it got all "puffy" when it dried, my hair has the same problem, so what does it mean to "straighten" it? and how do you do it?

I think it's happened to all of us at some point in our youths.

What was the reason mommy/daddy/aunty/grandma/etc. forced you to get a new look?

Thought it'd look cute?

As a punishment?

Let's hear what you guys have to say on the subject!

Is there any product that really can reverse the damage or at least put some moisture back into it. It's mainly in then ends. I have really long hair and want to keep it long. I want to dye my hair again to get it dark again but don't want to damage it furthur. Last time I dyed it was over a year ago and all the color faded out so now it's back to looking blondish again and I hate it.
I'm planning on getting a trim again but I just need to give the ends some moisture again. I use dove shampoos and conditioners. I have an oily scalp so whatever product I use to help my hair can only go on the ends.
It's getting really annoying due to the winter weather putting more static in my hair and causing it to tangle more.
So please give me suggestions!
Thanks!
