Okay...If you have head lice, go to the drug store and find a special shampoo for it. There is alot out there if you go to the right drug stores.
To prevent head lice, avoid sharing hats, combs, brushes, and even earmuffs.
Hope it helps!!

There are plenty or over the counter medications (shampoos) and combs to remove them. That's the easy part.
Keeping from getting them again is another story.
They are transmitted by people who have them or clothing, furniture and bedding that they have had contact with.
With children, it's almost impossible besides quarantining them, to keep them from spreading to other kids. Then the relatives of those kids get them and so on.
The original cause is poor hygiene, but even people with good hygiene can get them because they are so easily spread and hard to detect until the hair is infested (that is unless you do daily thorough inspections).
Some major ways to spread them include: using another person's comb, hairbrush, hats, scarves, etc; close contact with someone who has them; sharing clothes; and sitting on furniture or bedding that has been exposed to them.
If you see someone constantly scratching their head, they could have headlice or it could be another skin condition; either way I would avoid them. It's sad to say, but if you notice that some of your children's friends do not have the best hygiene, it would be prudent to limit their contact with your kids.

There's this hair dye that lice just hate. It usually colours red but of late they've been making it in other colors. It's called henna and i hear it originates from asia. Anyways.. it's been proven to work so you can keep the lice away and still look good.
hope this helps

Use pure tea tree oil often and wash infrequently, use a lot of sheen spray and hair polishing gloss, these keep hair slippery and greasy leaving lice no where to lash on to because hair and scalp is too greasy to hold on to, this will also suffocate them. massage/apply tea tree oil daily to hair especially scalp area where they reproduce, this way they don't have a chance and continue to use tea tree oil, sheen spray and polishing gloss now and then even after they're gone keeping them at bay. (after they're all dead wash all linen and clothing in bleach or ammonia if don't want to damage fabrics and wash and soak all hair accessories in tea tree oil.

An elementary school teacher I know says that lice don't like permed or color-treated hair. She always has highlights put in at the salon to avoid catching lice from her students.

After you use the special shampoo wash all your sheets and blankets from your bed, any sweater or coats that you have been wearing. Use hot water to kill any lice or eggs left behind. If you don't do this step they usually come right back.

Use conditioner and leave some in it as the hair shaft becomes too slippery for the eggs to adhere.

Put Tea Tree Oil in your shampoo. Pharmacy sells it for about $10.00.
Rinse hair with vinegar if you have dandruff.
