Here is my advice. You want a THICK shampoo. This will help with the moisture. Also you want to condition the hair from the ends TO the top, not the other way around. This way the conditioner gets to where it's needed most first. You will want to shampoo only 2-3 times a week and condition everyday regardless of the shampooing. On the days that you do not shampoo you may want to use a light leave in conditioner to prevent the hair from being weighed down. I Love products by Catwalk or Paul Mitchell, they are more expensive but they are sooo worth it. Also Biolage has excellent products as well. Read the labels of your products...Your shampoo and conditioner may not be the problems, Hairspray is a big contributor to the problems you are experiencing, also any other products you may be using that contain Alcohol will dry your hair out terribly. If you process your hair on a regular basis such as blow drying, straight ironing or curling with a hot iron or hot rollers this will also cause drying and damage. You should deep condition your hair at least once a month, I recommend twice if you have excessive dryness or damage. Once you color your hair it will need special care. Also, once colored the practice of shampooing infrequently will help keep the color longer. If you have concerns about any advice you get ask your hair dresser/stylist/barber to confirm anything you have been told, if they are good they will tell you everything because they want you to come back to them. I know it is a lot of work but if you want great hair, especially long hair you have to really work at it. I had to change my entire routine to take better care of my hair too. Now I love my hair!! Good luck and happy dying.

Split ends and breakage are caused by improper care of your hair. 1. Use a good shampoo and conditioner! Ask your stylist to prescribe the proper products for the needs of your hair, not something you buy at the grocery store! Would you take medicine without a prescription from your doctor, or without knowing what the problem is? 2. Cut the ends of your hair on a regular basis ie: every 4-6 weeks because this keeps the ends from drying out, and when the hair ends are not kept blunt they Frey and open up and start loosing the moisture they need to stay shiny and healthy looking. It will also grow faster because it is healthy! 3. Stop straightening your hair every day! If you use good styling products on your hair it will help to keep it straighter longer! 4. Make sure you use good products that protect your hair from heat damage! Ask your stylist what she recommends to protect the hair from heat damage. 5. Talk to your stylist about conditioning treatments she can do in the salon to help repair the damage you have done at home. If you do all these things, you wil see a big improvement in your hair and so will everyone else. The end result will be a gorgeous you!

I have the same problem with very dry ends and split ends. What I do is to get a trim every third month to get rid of all the split ends and give my hair a fresh start again. Also, after washing my hair, I leave the hair conditioner in (just on the ends)for at least 30minutes so that it can really do its work well. You can try it and see if it works for you.

I use a product called Sunsilk Hydra TLC. I have the same problem. I wear my hair up in a ponytail almost all the time, because it's thick and too hot on my neck. So, my sister bought me this stuff for christmas. There is a shampoo, conditioner, and an after-shower cream stuff. It works amazingly well, and smells awesome to boot. I'm really not sure how much it costs, because I got it for Christmas, but my sister's cheap (haha) so it can't be that bad.

i dont mind dove shampoo its ok but from personal experience i would say stay away from shampoo's with fragrance. Try something very mild so it wont further damage ur hair. Trim it and get treatment put in at a hair salon. They sell home treatments there so just buy one and use it like once a week. Also stay away from heat styling. Give ur hair time to recover before u die it .

yes there is.. i used to have the same problem there are a couple of things you can do first of all if you blowdry your hair STOP it ruins your hair really quickly, also coloring you hair really dries out your hair and the more you do it the more your hair will be dry and also then your hair will fall out slowly, you can by coacoa butter or any type of lotion and every night mix it in your hair, not a lot but soon it will be all be better and i recommend you get a trim for you hair maybe like a cm it will help you hair grow more healthy- hope i helped

I am a hair product junkie, please DO NOT try dr, miracle it will make your drier and will cause it to break. You need a rich hair creme that provides extra conditioning in your hair, try using avocado products or Olive oil products, a company call Tropical makes a good avocado conditioner and Organic root stimulator makes a rich creamy Olive oil hair dressing creme and lotion for hair, these are great for dry ends as they provide extra conditioning. Palmers also makes Gro treatment for hair this literally stops breakage and dryness immediately. Note sometimes dry hair may need moisture(water) other times it may need oil, not because it is dry means it need moisture experiment and try oil base moisturizers instead like olive oil base products. WHEN MY HAIR IS DRY AND BREAKING I CANNOT USE ANY WATER BASE PRODUCTS AS THESE MAKES MY HAIR BREAKS MORE, HOWEVER,OIL BASE WORKS GREAT.

I have really long hair that gets split ends very easily, and my favorite product to use is Garnier Fructis Long and Strong. It keeps my hair damage free, and really gives it bounce and shine. It is not greasy at all, and helps get the knots out of tangled hair. Check this out!

It sounds gross but it's worked for my mom for years and she's a bleach blonde. Mayo! She puts it on her hair and tucks it under a shower cap for about an hour then shampoos and conditions as normal. She does it about once a week and it's soft and healthy. Darkening your hair won't do as much damage as lightening it. Also, try Tresseme shampoo and conditioner, much better!!!!!

hello there. well for damage there really is no way to reverse it until it grows out. but you can maintain it . Use matrix the cream just for your ends. or use redkin extreme on your ends only. this should help alot. and for coloring it a deeper color you should not use any color with a peroxide in it . this will only dry your ends out more and they will probably snap off.
