Hair - October 2006

I'm looking for a light brown shade of color that doesn't make my hair look red, I used to use light brown but the color was too dark and made me look pasty....... I tried chestnut but it comes out too reddish any suggestions? My hair is naturally a medium brown, I am coloring to cover gray!

i have bright red hair and pretty pale/freckly skin, and i am going to dye it. what would be the best color to dye it? i think i want to make it brown but im not posative, what would look best?

ok, people with brown hair are called brunettes and people with yellow/goldish hair are blondes. soo WHY DONT PEOPLE WITH RED HAIR HAVE A NAME?!?!? if they already do can u tell me what it is? cuz this was just really bothering me today and i know its something stupid to get annoyed with, but whatever.

I am taking down my braids, and they are coming out really easy because I have a lot of synthetic hair and am taking my time. I am wondering if its worth keeping the hair, since I will be doing this again after the first of the year, or is it completely unusable after the first time?

can anyone give me any straighening tips for my hair...its VERY bulky and its about shoulder length when straight...i do everything im supposed to do when straighening my hair(i do it after its air dried,i use a comb when straightening etc.)another question tho,what products would i use that wouldnt make my hair curl AFTER i straighten it...gel,mouse,pomade,and hair spray make it curl.serum works well but it doesnt supply that much control.?

we dont have the time or money to get it done in a salon, so she is getting an at home kit... are certain brands that work better? and anything i should know (i have never done it before) about dyeing her hair (like tips, etc)?

ps. i told her ive done this before so i need some tips to make it look like i know what im doing! (i am not a bad mother!)
