It's normal to shave, not to shave, and/or to shave on occasion. It depends on what is "normal" to the guy. If you're in a relationship with a guy who shaves, and you're not comfortable with it, then let him know so that you can figure out other options that can work for both of you.
Possible reasons for shaving body hair could be for sexual satisfaction, mental satisfaction, physical satisfaction, emotional satisfaction, or a combination of some or all.
For example, people who swim a lot usually shave their body hair to have faster speed in the water. Also, some bodybuilders will shave their body hair to be able to see their muscle definition or for other reasons. Some men prefer to shave only their testicular sac, or the whole genital region for sexual reasons.
There are many more reasons why people shave body hair; it could be esthetic motivation or even because hair can harbor bacteria from our skin which can cause unpleasant odors.
Remember this: what is normal for you may not be normal for others, BUT there are many people who shave their body hair regardless of gender or sex.

If he shaves his head, face and back then that's perfectly normal, but if he shaves ANYTHING else like his pubic hair, his arms and legs then no I would consider that to be ABnormal and chances are he's a fairy. I only have reasons to shave my face and thank God too. There's nothing else for me to shave ANYWHERE on my body.

I suppose maybe it's "normal," but it looks really gross, and it itches like anything when it grows back. On certain parts of the body bald is definitely not beautiful! Ugh. Hair is soft and sexy and NORMAL for sure. I've been told gay men shave because otherwise anal sex is too messy, but I wouldn't want a man who was into that kind of stuff.

It is recommended that men do not shave their pubic hair, as this is one of the primary sources of sensation (the hairs are attached to sensors in the skin). Trimming is okay, but he will enjoy himself more if he keeps the hairs in place.
Swimmers and other athletes sometimes shave the rest of their bodies in order to reduce drag.

I don't think it's abnormal. I went through as phase where both my wife and I shaved. The maintenance is the hardest part. It can be quite sensual, skin to skin. In the long run not doing it was easiest. It can be fun. I'm not gay, never have been, just added a little fun to our relationship.

Yes...sometimes.
First, there are certain areas..*cough cough* that are a preferecen thing..
Than the rest of the body..some guys like the smoothness or you have some guys that are hairy and let's face it..we all make fun of hairy backed guys so of course they'll remove it.. It's no different than woman trying to get rid of unwanted hair for the sake of vanity.

Whatever "normal" is. I think it's sexy when a guy has a hairy chest, stomach and legs. Guys that shave those parts might as well just get a pair of breast implants and wear a dress.

I shave my chest as well. I'm not a fat guy and I sweat like it's nothing even when it's cool. Gotta shave the chest. Cools things down.
