What setting whould I adjust to do that? I know my camera can only take pictures so fast, but right now I know its going a lot slower than it should be, the lagtime is terrible.

I'm really "green" - no training whatsoever. Could you please critique these senior pics (light edits) and let me know what's good and bad about them?

I am using Kodak Tmax 100 film for a depth of field project. For example when I set the aperture at widest opening 3.5 for my lens, in manual mode the scale blinks at the 2+ meaning I should increase exposure two stops so i adjust my shutter speed to the next higher speed. Is this right? In aperture priority mode the shutter speed sometimes reaches 1500 sec. I am confused but at the same time I want to learn.

I've seen a couple places that have it down to about 250 or 350. Would you trust these...at all?

Also, if you have any suggestions to websites where I can order it at a good price, but still get it..you know...reliabely...?

I have a question about my digital camera. Let me preface the question by saying that I am not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to digital cameras, but I can follow your response if you'll spell it out well.

Basically, the other night I was trying the trick with "Painting in the air" with a flashlight in the dark. I cranked the shutter speed to 20 secs. so that I could paint quite a bit. The pictures turned out perfectly.

Now. How do I slow down the shutter speed and do a similar picture in daylight? It seems that I can only take slow shutter pictures during the night. I tried to take pictures inside my house and oustide during the daytime, but as soon as I switched the shutter speed to a slower time, every picture I took was completely white.

What settings do I have to change to do something like that during the day. I was trying to take some kind of "Trace" speed blur picture of a car passing, but again - I just got an all white picture, nothing visible. Help please!

My web tech teacher is making us research “resolution”, “rule of thirds” and “framing” for taking photographs. I try to look for some web sites that could help me but the only one that came up as wikipedia. The problem is that my teacher says that wikipedia is not reliable but i dont know where else i can get a good explanation of these three words. I kind of understand resolution and the rule of thirds but framing i really do not understand at all. can someone please help me.

DHB Photography said Quantaray lenses are not good. "I actually worked at Ritz many years back and have had experience with the lenses; I strongly advise against getting a Quantaray lens".

I am learning photography, I am not great but I don't stink either. I own a professional DSLR camera. I was considering offering my services locally for things like sporting events, kids birthday parties, family reuninons etc. Again, I am NOT great, but I am getting better and I am getting decent shots, I just have a lot to learn.
I would charge a small fee, maybe 20.00 or 25.00 an hour and I would just give the client their photos all on disc, they would have the rights to them to print as they see fit. I would retain rights to use some photos for my portfolio (but I would get a release signed for them)
I could also do things like photographing items people want to sell, property photos etc.

Would you ever use a service like this knowing that I am still learning? Its not very expensive, you get lots of inexpensive photos and I get experience.

Would you ever use this type of service? Why or why not?
